Erm. Which warranty is good? 3 years completecover accidental damage protection? wah but have to add rm 500 wor. By 3 years time, can save to buy new laptop already? Lol.

There are many different types of warranty depending on whether you're going for the Inspiron/ Vostro/ XPS/ Alienware etc. lines...
For Inspiron and Vostro, its around RM250 for 3 years warranty..
As for complete cover, it all depends on you.. complete cover, as the name suggests, covers also damages to the laptop caused by accidents

If that particular model doesn't have water resistant keyboard, then most probably the laptop will short circuit nod.gif

Dell Inspiron 15R (Limited Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M@RM2999, 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm)  for sure smile.gif  brows.gif
since dell warranty services/ and trusts are  better/more support than acer smile.gif

"Acer=Cheap gaming laptops THAT WORK GREAT"
for AMD HD7730M / GT 640 not a big difference, you can check here. if i'm not wrong, i think amd 7730 is better than 640 5-10%.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphi...List.844.0.html

not saying that Acer is not good, but for dell (my experience) I can survive it even the display screen was broken to half smile.gif

but don't forget about both models. got heat issues sad.gif hmm.gif

but, ivy series - reduce heat better than sandy smile.gif and since it's new spec, and no 1 complain bout this new model. you can try it smile.gif
remember to upgrade bios/ drivers to prevent heating issues.

* i7 is not for gaming. if for gaming better get i5 smile.gif

The laptop is still very new, I don't think there will be any stock in Lowyat yet... if you're buying in a hurry, then Dell's website is the way to go nod.gif
Or you could also find some Dell sellers in Garage Sales as well~

Please help!

Preferred Brand - Asus/Lenovo or any other good ones
Budget - loosely from rm2k - rm2.5k
Usage - College use + gaming (must be able to play diablo 3)
Preferred laptop/screen size - 14"

I also noticed a lot of recommendations for Asus N45SL Jay Chou Mystic Edition. My question is why not Asus N45SF? Any major difference between these two besides the jay chou design?

thanks so much in advance! smile.gif

i7 is for multi tasking, like if you're designer, rendering videos, doing 3d effects smile.gif animation. i7 helps a lot.
but if you just want for gaming, better i5. why i5:) cause i5 generate less heat than i7.

and 3k budget with i5 series, either getting a better graphics card than i7 bundle, or maybe u can save more $$. smile.gif

Preferred brand : Any other than Acer
Budget : 5k
Usage : I'm a graphic student so I'll be using a lot of software like photoshop, painter and some heavy software. Need at least 2+ hours battery life
Screen size : 14" or 15". 17" if its not too heavy

I was considering a macbook but I'm afraid the new ones won't be out until after I go back to college so I'm considering other options. Tq
