1. Preferred Brand : Asus
2. Budget : RM2k
3. Usage : Presentations(currently for a foundation student) , Movies and Musics , Surfing , Gaming ( Dota , Dota2 and etc)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : below 15inch

I'm comparing Asus VX6S and Asus K43..

Any precious guides please ?  smile.gif

I say K43 is a better machine but not as stylish as VX6. You probably won't enjoy Dota 2 much with VX6S.

K43U (with E-450) is not as powerful as the VX6S in the graphic aspect.

The one with the HD6470 GPU on the other hand...

with A43SM-VX102V you probably can play Dota 2 at max but without ingame AA and AO turn on to get steady 60fps. hmm.gif

Much much better machine to play game compare to K43 and VX6S imo.

Gaming wise, go for the Asus. Haha. My search didn't come up well enough due to time constraint. But do you have to look something that's non-gaming looking? Haha. They don't care right?

For question 3, I am not sure. tongue.gif tongue.gif Sorry~

1. The HP is better in terms of gaming. The Asus would be better in terms of multimedia.

2. Minimal difference. Only matters if you use multiple monitors.

3. Ivy Bridge architecture would have Pentium, i3, i5 and i7 line. For now, these 2 are just using Sandy Bridge.

Q1. Gaming performance, HP is better. N55SL have better screen, screen resolution and speakers.

Q2. GPU Vram capacity doesn't affect gaming performance.. at least not for notebook GPU.

Q3. There will be HP DV6-7xxx series and Asus N56 that come with Ivy Bridge i7. You just need to wait a month or 2.

Nono.. i meant with A43SM you can play Dota 2 with most of the eye candy turn on except for Anti-aliasing and Ambient Occlusion.

Sorry K43 was not meant for heavy gaming, I was referring to K43TA(Europe model) which was dubbed as A43TA here in Malaysia.

Do you need quad cores CPU? coz i don't think there is any 14" quaddie at that price point other than AMD APU which have pretty weak processing power. hmm.gif

Your best bet is
Y470, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT550M (2GB)@RM2799[JBL], W7HP, 4GB, 750GB (5400rpm), Lenovo P350 headset OR 2 years warranty
It is an old model so maybe u can bargain the price much lower. ph34r.gif
