QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 13 2012, 07:59 PM) If you have a tight budget, can consider this one as well: HP Pavilion G4-2026/27tx, i3-2350M + AMD HD7670M@RM1999, 4GB, 640GB(5400rpm), W7HP The specifications are obtained from HP online store. If the spec is right, then its quite worth it Dang, very powderful GPU for cheaps

What's the screen resolutions for all the N53's?
The Acer 5830TG is only less powerful in terms of processing power but makes up with a longer battery life.
The N53's should have a higher resolution screen with better performance and sound system.

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Apr 15 2012, 11:06 PM) I still use 40GB Everything else stuff in external? QUOTE(leehong @ Apr 15 2012, 11:19 PM) Wa, seems like got person like that, how do you survive that, you install/keep all the other things to external hard disk? I just install the stuff I need on the SSD first, then the rest is for anything. 160GB is quite a lot of space. And also, got 3 more external HDD to back it up.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 16 2012, 07:05 PM) Newer models will keep on coming out anyway, by the time you buy, I'm sure it will be cheaper for the specs you will be getting that what you are getting now The powerful Nvidia GT640m is already available in the Acer V3- M3-581TG-52466G52, i5-2467M + Nvidia GT640M@RM2599, 6GB, 500GB The price can go lower Though be careful of the build quality. It's not the most solid laptop, regardless of its looks. Flexes quite a bit and the touchpad is bordering on scarily flimsy.

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Apr 17 2012, 09:41 PM) for n55 is the model using i5 version, which it spec is i5-2450m + nvidia gt 635 + 1600*900, not i7 version for ge620dx, using i7-2670QM + gt 555m + 1366*768 overall is msi better right ? but it resolution lose already but msi laptop is it popular in Malaysia ? because can't see any1 using it For work and multimedia, the Asus would be a better choice. Larger screen resolution is a joy to view and has pretty great sound system. The MSI is a good choice if you don't mind gaming in HD resolution. MSI isn't as popular. Only recently have they started to promote aggressively.

K43U (with E-450) is not as powerful as the VX6S in the graphic aspect.
The one with the HD6470 GPU on the other hand...

QUOTE(giaogiao @ Apr 18 2012, 12:10 PM) How's your search? Finalizing now, guess got not much choice ady. Q1. Which one better ar? - Asus N55SL-S2065V @Rm3550, 4GB Ram, 2GB GT 635, BluRay - HP Pavilion dv6-6c19TX @Rm3050, 4GB Ram, 1GB ATI 7690 GPU Q2. The GPU 1GB and 2GB differs a lot, i mean gaming wise? Q3. i7 soon to have this ivy bridge also? 1. The HP is better in terms of gaming. The Asus would be better in terms of multimedia. 2. Minimal difference. Only matters if you use multiple monitors. 3. Ivy Bridge architecture would have Pentium, i3, i5 and i7 line. For now, these 2 are just using Sandy Bridge.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 24 2012, 09:28 AM) There is not much performance gain (so far) compared to the Sandy Bridge processors although it doesn consumes less power... its the Intel HD4000 GPU inside that shines actually- about 30% improvement over the current Intel HD3000... Which is a good deal if you're buying ultrabooks/ subnotebooks and you still feel like gaming abit Well, the power consumption difference is negligible because it it runs faster even with SpeedStep and thus it consumes even more. If it was compared clock for clock, then it would be more significant. QUOTE(NightFelix @ Apr 24 2012, 12:41 PM) ASUS A43SJ - VX590 - 14”RM 1, 399 - FreeDos2.1 GHZ Intel Core B950 2GB DDR3 1333 MHz Memory 500GB 5400-rpm hard drive Nvidia GeForce GT520 - 1GBHey guys, I need to ask you guys for opinion. Will this model able to do Illustrator & Photoshop capability? I might even upgrade it to 4GB DDR3 RAM. Price is taken from Compuzone. Yeah, it's capable alright. In fact, very value for money for the specs.

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Apr 24 2012, 02:00 PM) I just found another model almost similar spec and with the same price... OMG? Looks like the 2GB graphic more value. Guys, anyone can double confirm the price for me? ASUS A43SJ - VX590 - 14” RM 1, 399 - FreeDos2.1 GHZ Intel Core B950 2GB DDR3 1333 MHz Memory 500GB 5400-rpm hard drive Nvidia GeForce GT520 - 1GBASUS A43SD - VX216 - 14” RM 1, 399 - FreeDos 2.2 GHZ Intel Core B9602GB DDR3 1333 MHz Memory 320GB 5400-rpm hard drive Nvidia GeForce GT610 - 2GBWell, the A43SJ is the older unit. The A43SD replaces it. For graphics, it's the same GPU, just that the A43SD is using the rebadged model of the A43SJ's GT520M. But for that GPU, the difference in VRAM would not bring any difference in performance. However, the B960 would be more powerful than the B950

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Apr 24 2012, 02:58 PM) Hmm... Then if I using software of photoshop/illustrator, should I recommended to upgrade the RAM? Definitely. Upgrade to 8GB would be great though 4GB would be considered the minimum.

QUOTE(nikki_5543 @ Apr 24 2012, 05:35 PM) just asking..will it worth to w8 until ivy-bridge laptop arrive? and when can it avaible in malaysia..tq.. Ivy Bridge isn't too much of an improvement over Sandy Bridge. Sure it's a bit more powerful but power consumption is roughly the same.

QUOTE(chiahau @ Apr 24 2012, 07:34 PM) Peak power consumption yea. But idle power consumption, I think the Ivy would be lower slightly. Overall, Sandy to Ivy not really a massive gain. Apparently it's the same because IB's idle clocks are higher than SB's thus canceling out the power saved. Clock for clock though is when we can see the difference.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 26 2012, 11:30 AM) Eh? I thought you've pasted in the Spam thread? Sorry sorry, my bad I also thought you're selling to make way for the new U47 (injecting poison) That was from a Techhypermart lah I'm not selling so soon also. If the U47VC isn't as big of an improvement then I'll keep it. QUOTE(NightFelix @ Apr 26 2012, 11:42 AM) How was the ASUS U41SV-WX031V performance? because i going to looking into it. Pretty darn decent when it came stock. Then I boosted it with 8GB of RAM, a 160GB SSD and a Bigfoot Killer Wireless-N network chip.

QUOTE(Amal @ Apr 26 2012, 10:10 PM) Could this actually be the spec of the U47VC? http://www.pcsuperstore.com/products/11594...-U47VCDS51.htmlGT620M? The weight seems abit off though. It is possible, but if that's the weight and it only has a GT620M then it's not much of an upgrade. But I was assuming the weight would be 1.5kg.

But then again, the design might be better.
