Only got 2 pet shop in Tmn. Len Sen, one call Tack Yong and another opposite the road don't know the name and don't think so is Scales and Tails.

its not big as the ikano, just a shop lot but u learn alot from Nawin, was there just now. Played with the baby sugar glider and the radiata tortoise...that fellow pee so much !

Subang pet owners esp fish, reptiles n hamsters i really recommend Aqua88... although their english berterabur very kao lat, but the owner (i ask sapphire he say winter green hamster doh.gif) and supervisor (the one who speak like his tongue is 1 inch long) knows quite a lot about the pets there.

Just came back from Natural Aquatic... the snakes there are way better than Pet Safari's.. and they got a monkey but not sure if theyre selling.. Bought an aquarium for my hamster at RM35... bloody cheap if u ask me, if I cut up acrylic on that size will probably cost me RM100+. Their range of lizards are also quite a lot. Too bad I saw one hamsters which is badly bleeding from the head.. tats enough to put me off from buying one.

Direction: You reach teh SS19 area you can see a kopitiam called Lian Heng.. Natural Aquatic is just on the block opposite Lian Heng's but on the front part of the block.

oohhh, the pony tail guy go kacau the monyet until it got angry hahaha... the aquarium i bought is freakin cheap compared to subang ss15, ss14's aquarium shop and its got good glue work by the pony tail guy... thumbup.gif very happy with the quality except theres no foothold, planning to get 2 more from him after cny

nope, don to go carrefour, from federal exit, turn in to subang and go straight, then u pass by a school on ya left and further in front there is a shell station on ya right. turn right at the lights and natural aqua is on ya right .

they will floating,try to use net.they are very many,i swim and get sting until go to hospital.

of course i am in melaka... so better if it's somewhere near melaka.... or west side of malaysia...

Im not that expert but i know some stuff bout chelonians, that is either turtle or tortoise. Im planning to be a chelonian breeder but all my turts n torts neither havent reach the maturity age nor dont have a pair. About breeders u can contact NZX, crazymouse_yyh. I think they can supply u hedgehog.

I just saw 3 long coat chihuahua puppies just now at a shop selling for RM1700 each, MKA cert + microchipped.
the shop is in Damansara Utama, Uptown area, I dont remember the shop name but if you can find San Francisco Coffee you'll find the shop.

They have lots of fresh water fishes, i was there to get driftwood for my tarantula's future setup, I found that they are selling earth worms as feeders for fish too.
about RM6.50 per container (40-50 worms)

Hi all. Just joined the forum today. Thought of sharing my favourite pet shops.
I have fish, so I just go to those selling fish.
I have been to all 3 of 88 pet marts branches (they are now called 88 pets mart instead of 88 marine because they now sell cats/dogs/exotic pets/etc). I really recommend 88, their customer service is damn good thumbup.gif (at all 3 branches). Once i asked this guy about setting up a 3 feet planted aquarium with fish. This fella took a piece of paper and wrote down all the necessary equipments, recommending me several options, and what are the pro and cons, from the cheapest setup to the most expensive setup, all those kind of stuff. I think he spent 1/2 an hour with me notworthy.gif .
The one at sunway mas is damn big, 2 tingkat lagi.
I have also been to natural aquatic at subang jaya, equally helpful staff and quality live stock. I live in bangi, but once a week I sanggup go these shops even though far from my home. That is how good these shops are. rclxms.gif

Did you know that at Jalan Pudu you can get very2 cheap fish livestock and aquarium products? Dwarf Gouramis as low as RM 0.70, RES at RM 4.00, Bettas at RM1.50, tiger barbs at RM 0.50, and lots more ohmy.gif . They even have this beautiful puffer fish (yellow in colour with black polkadots) which i havent seen at the more commercial pet shops.

Finding these shops is quite a challenge. They have around 7 shops there next to each other. Most of the shops are just gerai2 tepi jalan with atap zinc. The fish are sold in hanging plastic bags and basins placed on the floor. Plus the road there selalu jam. Dont ever go time peak hours. Be warned icon_rolleyes.gif

Most of the people here use Jalan Pasar's Market to acknowledge Jalan Pudu's Fish shop. They have really cheap prices for fishes and almost anything. But be warned that some of their stocks are ill treated and maybe infected with desease especially the turtles/tortoise and exotics there. To buy a >rm50 stuff, i recommended u to go to a reputable shop so that they can guarantee the livestock's quality. wink.gif

Uzairi, you just confirmed my speculation cool.gif I've bought fishes from Jalan Pudu (or Jalan pasar), from 88 and from natural aquatic usj. You're right the fishes there are very prone to disease (and death). The dwarf gourami and gold gourami i bought at jln pasar there all died in one week (supposingly hardy fish). Same goes to my tiger barbs. The fish bought from 88 and natural aquatic all are very healthy. (except for my blue ram which got bullied by a gold gourami sad.gif ). This made me wonder, maybe the fish at jalan pasar are all stressed out. Thanks for your input. Im never going there again shakehead.gif . Ill stick to reputable pet shops for now. wink.gif

Do not get from petshops or you will regret later. Do call up our operator service and ask for Malaysian Kennel Associations phone number and ask for Maltese breeder with puppies, they will give you a list of names and numbers and you call them up and ask lah. Easy only heheheh.... Oh yah, price is RM1500 above... if lucky, can get RM1300 also.... well, try your luck and see...

Any of you guys know a pet shop selling compact fluroescent bulbs (with full spectrum/UVB). The ones that can be screwed into the normal spotlight/basking light. I need it for my turtles.

anyone know any pet shops near bandar baru bangi?? all the pet shops in bangi and kajang sucks.. not only unreasonably mahal, the staff are not knowledgable enough plus the live stocks are not properly taken care of mad.gif

every weekend i have to go as far as PJ,USJ or pandan indah.. doh.gif . kesian my wife, looks like i am spending more time looking for pet shops than with her rclxub.gif .
you guys in pj and usj are so fortunate laa....

I just remembered one shop near 88 pets mart subang jaya specializing in marine fish. largest stock of marine fish and corals that i have ever seen. can't remember the name of the shop though. batu karang something sweat.gif

they even have those weird looking sea eels, very scaryy icon_question.gif

Ive been to that shop last time. They were displaying 2 small sharks in a tank. sweat.gif sweat.gif They have big collections of corals and saltwater fish too. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

About the petshops at Bangi and Kajang, there limited choices tho. The one that i know at bangi is located behind Warta, there's 2 of them.

I know of those two .. sadly they are included in my list of shops that "SUCKS" mad.gif . I only go there when im desperate sweat.gif .

had a meeting at kelana jaya today. took the oppurtunity to check out pet family at taman megah. i got excited as soon as i show the shop rclxms.gif . it was damn big. i got even excited when i got in. i was like a child in a candy store drool.gif . i was surprised to find that they even have those poisonous snakes (viper, rattlesnake,etc)

i ended up buying a tropical lamp for my tropical aquarium, a co2 refill, and sera's artemia (brine shrimp) which i am still figuring out how to raise blush.gif

Hmm, dont know how cheap are you expecting. For me those two are already standard price, or cheaper than the lousy fish shops here in bangi/kajang area. The only cheap ones i think are those sold at pasar malam or jalan pudu/jalan pasar in K.L. Those are damn cheap. But i've had very bad experience with the fishes bought there. All died liao. Only my betta survived untill today and living healthy. Even he had some bad days.
I rather pay extra for better quality.

Good things comes with a price. And in this situation, even tho the price is a bit higher the quality is higher and you'll satisfied with the specimens. I think both shops are among the best shops in KL, Selangor area.

I was disappointed when I see dead fishes in the tank at PetFamily a couple days ago. Not just 1 or 2 tanks, but a couple of them. I know sometimes its inevitable, but you know, its an impression. I made price comparison after visiting 2 major fish sellers in Penang, CTY and KW. And their prices are extremely competitive and with many variaties. Got interested in fish after a visit there!

Well, you know what ? Most of the bigger supplier are located at Penang. Those available there maybe were transported troughhout malaysia. From what i said, i mean its better to buy from a reputable shop at least compared to a cheap but the quality is not guaranteed.

Hermm, in that case maybe the prices here are due to transportaion costs. I dont think you'll find the same price here as in penang. I've been to almost twenty fish shops (lost count) when i wanted to start. I looked at kajang, bangi, pandan indah, pudu, kelana jaya, petaling jaya, taman desa, subang jaya and every other shop that i happen to pass by rclxub.gif . Got very tired and decided i need to start. I sticked to the shops recommended in this topic. Unless they're not mentioned in this forum, i dont even bother to stop by. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah, no doubt shops in Penang have more variety and cheaper but we cant go there everytime we're looking for something dont we ? I myself prefer the shops around he that at least better than those average shops with cheap prices. I prefer to pay more at least im satisfied with the money spend.

Quite hard to find parking lots. Jalan pasar is a very2 busy street. Good to go weekends. If weekdays dont go during peak hours (on the way to work, on the way from work). I onced got stuck more than 1/2 hour on the road from junction at time square to jalan pasar rclxub.gif . Once i arrived, I gave up and went straight home. If lucky you get parking at roadside along the shops. If not you may have to park a few streets away. If you dont mind paying, there is a payed cark park at jalan pasar but damn expensive mad.gif

in the map, if you go left along jalan pudu you will reach pudu bus station. No, it is NOT in front of pudu jail. Hope you're not thinking of walking from pudu bus station to jalan pasar. That's almost insane smile.gif

There's a parking space there, park how long u want for just rm5. That's considered cheap for a parking place with unlimited time limit. I always park there.

The nearest monorail would be imbi. No Putra LRT nearby. But for STAR LRT, i think the nearest one might not be stesen hang tuah, but stesen pudu (not the stesen plaza rakyat behind pudu bus stop). I cant exactly remember the location of the stesen but it is between hang tuah station and chan siow lin station.

i went to jalan pasar petang tadi hehe i take lrt star to pudu, then walk a little....bcoz ur map r good i found it easily...
wa...its so great so many fish and cheap also...but the shops specialized on fishes and water animal only aaa...only few mammals sold...i saw hamster, guinea pigs and cute but poor rabbit...try to find some rabbit food for my rabbit but at last went to petaling street as usual heheh

Discovery Pets is at pandan indah...not far.Is b4 88 pets mart....near talam coperation building. If u know Tsin Tung Restoran,is at the back of the restaurant.

Saw one section selling beetles. Very expensive , lowest was RM30. Wahh, when small boy used to kutip those beetles, even with the horn ones. Herm.. bole buat duit ni.
Even the type of chubby katak that i found in my house once and threw away, people are selling at least RM30. Tree frog, whopping RM100++. aiyark rugi i did not catch.

If not competitive sure they bungkus. Their price abit high from outside but the specimen's quality are good.

Went to Pet Family for the second time to buy some fish. I was shocked to find their price shocking.gif . During my first visit, i only shopped for acessories and the price was OK.
Most of the fishes were double the price compared to other LFS. The sold angelfish (kononnya L size) for RM6.00. Blah, i just bought some angelfish for half the price and bigger some more. mad.gif

Confirm not my place to shop for fish. Other stuff maybe. shakehead.gif

How about the quality ? If the fish died u can ask for replacement, LFS wont give u that chance. Price do have its advantage.

Don't know the quality because never bought any fish there biggrin.gif . The LFS that i mentioned where i bought the angel was 88 pets mart. Been purchasing fish from there for quite some time and very very happy with the quality. I onced dropped an angelfish on the floor, and it was without water for half a minute, and now it's still alive and "kicking" notworthy.gif .So i do think the fish at pets family are way overpriced for it's quality.
I think maybe because they're singaporean company, so much expensive than local company. smile.gif .
Do they really give replacement for died fish? Never heard about that at any pet shop before. What are they're T & C?

yeah only fish.. no acessories. but they fish quality is good, n they also put the 'green ubat' to pack ur fish, so no worries the new fish bring any sickness back home.

Do you mean LDP or federal highway? Because i dont think section 21 is near LDP. I dont think i've ever come across a signboard of section 21 (mostly la SS something).

BTW, had a meeting at KL today. Decided to check out section 21 (got directions from ofismate- he said near uia pj). Turned out he gave the wrong information. mad.gif I decided to look around for myself and ended up in kelana jaya. Then got stuck in a stupid jam for 1/2 hour. vmad.gif . Stopped looking because had to catch another meeting in cyberjaya. But i did found out where section 19 is. Guess its near there. Maybe if got time tomorrow will check it out. icon_rolleyes.gif

I think they're cutting back.... It's 5% now... I got 15% in Tobys because I had Toby's card and Safari card, but the main stuff sold in the Petlovercenter is 5%

Dont waste your time getting PW card. Their discounts are very limited, only certain stuff in certain times. Safari is discount on everything.

this morning, i went shopping...i went to Pet Family tmn megah 1st...sadly, cannot find the kibble i want...so i went to pet safari..found the kibble i wanted but wahlau...the price is higher by RM20, the canned food higher by rm1 than i normally get at rainin cats n dogs bandar puteri puchong...
So i went back there in the end,reasonable price, good service...and i think i wont go for any other place anymore for pets products...wasted my time, money....LOL

Well, petshops that specialize in their products are much better imho. Pets Family and Pet Safari are for general pets so they dont have all the items. Maybe u can try Pets Shack at Bandar Sunway coz they specialized in cats n dogs too.

Chipmunk pets safari got... pets wonderland MV imported some baby ferrets about 2 months ago, I think they have been sold, maybe you can ask them if any of their branches still carries any ferrets.

Some of MV pets wonderland hamsters are imported from Holland, not bad but a little pricey, you can also check one one utamas pets wonderland for hamsters, quite a good variety.

I think every LFS sell them. Up to you whether you want the wood type of plastic type. I dont suggest wood type cause later will berkulat.

It looks like it has been established for quite sometime.
Just that I didnt know about it.

Prices of fresh water fishes are cheap. Other fish like goldfish, arowana, no idea.

Where is your location? ProLee Pet at Jln Burma, Penang has a lot of puppies for sale. Opposite Penang Plaza. But if im not mistaken, they are more on toy breeds and grooming services. thumbup.gif

Dr. Dev is a breeder/show dog competitor. He has bred quite a number of ch.s and has a pretty impressive track record in the show ring. His dobes are mostly from US/Aus lines(i think);very fine structure (not my cuppa) whistling.gif
If ur interested in dobes, try researching EU lines...they are very solid and many can still work. rclxms.gif

I heard that Dr Dave's doberman who won best in show he spent money roughly equivalent to RM100k to import that dog? Have you been to the previous show? There is another Doberman which won best in show, not belongs to Dr Dave, it is belongs to a chinese. Handled by a Chilie handler, but the owner is Malaysian.

yesterday i walk by petaling street, Jalan Sultan, found there is a pet shop that js selling dogs. They have many kind of dogs....so excited that see many kind of dogs at once....
they also selling west highland but price around 4k....@_@

wah... better stay away from that shop... a few friends bought from that shop, their dogs all sick... one had tick fever and couldn't be cured...

Actually, there is a breeder in Klang but not sure he got any westies now or not but he told me he sells them for below 1k or a bit more if no cert....

I dont sell GR puppies, but you can contact MKA to get the breeder's information. GRs nowadays are relatively cheaper compared to last time, as they can have a huge litter, so it is not hard to get affordable ones.

But i would suggest that although you need to find those within your budget, only buy it from the breeders, go to their house and look at the pup's parents, see how are the dogs treated there, then only decide to purchase.

When Husky was first introduced in Malaysia, people thought they might not suit the hot weather here, but now, it seems that Huskies population is increasing and hardy enough to accommodate here.

Well, show dogs usually fetch a higher price (maybe that is why they are alot more expensive!!)...I wouldn't be surprised if it cost tht much for a V/BIS/BOB winner

Haha...for me...the best type of fur is the smooth coat,ie. dobes,bullmastiff,pitbull,boxer type....super short. Any fur that requires combing is considered long to me...! rclxm9.gif

True, i think the major consideration to own large breed dogs is the larger appetite, if you were to give good quality food, it might cost you more. While for toy breeds, you do not need a huge compound for them, they can be well suited indoor as well.

But of corse, there should be a consideration of future vet bills, especially when they come to old age.

couldn't agree more. the only time i was excited visiting there was when i haven't even started this hobby. now after visiting so much pet shops, i know how 'boring' it has been, plus stuff are much more expensive compared to others. no wonder the one at subang parade closed down

i m a new member here~

after reading all the thread here... today i finally went to scout for pet shop ... my main aim is fish .. tongue.gif i rear freshwater fish ..

i went to natural aquatic world.. since it got very good comment.. but i was dissapointed .. they dun seems to have lot variety of fish there..

after tat went to marine88 ... not bad... but mostly is fish keeping equipment.. not so much into selling fish ... but i realise there's another shop same row wit marine88 ... name 'pusat akuarium karang laut' ... this is the best saltwater fish shop i've ever seen.. 2 shop lot... 1 wit double storey.. upstairs is freshwater fish .. but not many also .. they are more into saltwater 1... the best ...

next pet family .. not bad.. mostly tetras .. n some cichlids.. but none of they i wan .. so sad...

any1 know where is the best in ss2?? i mean for aquarium ... not other pet.. just fish shop ...

today visited 5 shops in 2 1/2 hours (3pm - 5.30pm). went to 88 subang, than natural aquatic, then 88 sunway kotamas, then pet family, then irene aquarium. wanted to go to yee fatt but still couldn't find it. supposed to be not far from irene.
any directions on how to get there from irene?
uzairi, the shops are nearer to lrt taman bahagia rather than lrt kelana jaya. though its not really walking distance.
its not really far from pets family. from pets family go to the traffic light at the ldp junction. go straight untill you reach a traffic light. take left turn. lrt taman bahagia is now on ur right, go straight and take a left at the traffic light. go on untill you find a traffic light to enter a right junction. take that right turn. go down the hill. you will see a row of shop houses on a road to your right. take that road. irene aquarium is there. if you miss the turn and reach the traffic light near the shell petrol station, than you dah terlajak already
limys, what type of fish are you looking for? better be more specific so that we could direct you to the proper shops

dunno la. exotic pets are a popular hobby in KL and penang and maybe johor. but other areas quite hard to find (especially east coast). not only exotic, even ornamental fish are hard to find. normally they have betta (ikan kareng), guppy (ikan peacock) some local fish and then some birds.

easiest is contact the tarantula sellers here in this forum and ask them to pos laju to you. satu hari bole dapat

I went there and guess what I found?! A DEAD SYRIAN!!! with the guts all outside! Nobody clean them!

That's not all, I saw birds, but the birds are very dirty, all the shit on their feather. IMO, they stuff like 5-6 birds in 1 small enclosure. TOO SMALL!!!

And the anggora rabbits there! I saw one with a small crayon diameter dried up wound!! And a few of them have lost loads of fur on their body! It's an obvious sign of stress/malnutrition or whateva but it ain't good! vmad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

huh? is easy to find yee fatt, usually if u know how to go irene, u sure know how to go yee fatt. Doesn't few pages back got teach u how to go.
opposite of yee fatt is a gas station.

theres 3 exotic pet shop at ipoh(really in the center of the town)

1 is next to hospital greentown(next to hospital ipoh) there got sell: tarantula / snake / gerbil / dog / cat / turtle /bird and sumtime if u good with the owner he can show u sum animal in the back of the shop...last time i saw a female peacock..

1 more shop is about 300m from the 1st shop there got sell squrreal / cat / and alot breed of dog and hamster..last time i buy a red centipede here about 6 inch..

1 more shop is also about 400m from the 2nd shop(behind ocean[now they call it the store] if u ask local they know..there got alot of parrot.. i thk about 3-4 kind of diff breed...n snake n turtle ..

i know about 3 more marine shop at ipoh but i only know 1 exact adress of it

last time i buy my aquarium here... so cheap 3 feet+stand+2feet(filter)+renovated aquarium only about RM200 this for saltwater fish

here also cheap lionfish here only RM30 / emperor angelfish(same in my avatar) is only RM95-135 n other fish...

at back of this fish shop got also 1 marine fish shop but its so expensive,but the variety of fish here better...here u can even find shark..this shop specialized in cabinet aquarium but the prize about Rm8++-RM4+++ shakehead.gif

1 more marine shop at stadium ipoh..its easy to find...later when i'm free i go get the exact name of the shop...

i thk that shop is legal coz they have been there almost 20 years++ even got picture in black n white they catching phyton...

what you looking for? the pet safari in sunway pyramid only have hamsters. don't have any other animals. but they carry all the pet supplies you will ever need including small little dresses for hamsters.... tongue.gif if only my gps were not that fat, i would have bought for my girl.

There's a few nice shops at Subang, very near to Sunway. Take a look at the 1st page at the selangor part.

I thought i should share this clinic/pet shop with you guys.
The owner of this clinic/pet shop is very warmth and nice.
Now this clinic/pet shop not only treat pets but they also do grooming and clean up ur pets, if ur too busy and got no time to clean up ur pets you can go here smile.gif
