you have focal utopia and you want to go for alpine subs? really?

Well heard its the best in its class. all everything else is Alpine besides my speakers. what do u recommend?

i found out a lot of ppl like to pair alpine and focal together..any specific reason to share?

well, when it comes to speakers, for me Focal is the best. but only play with utopia line bcs the sq is worth the money. As for the rest, head unit, Alpine is good, not the best, amplifiers, PDX is the best for me as its digital and very intelligent, and last but not least is the Sub, in which TYPE X has been given very good ratings by many. thats why i mixed mine. But not to forget the Monster wiring and RCA, the best in its class.

There's two ways of looking at it.

1. They are happy cuz they haven't heard anything better.
2. They are just convincing themselves that nothing is better or is getting what they want from their gear.

Personally I don't like the Utopia range. Only the tweeter is nice, and when I say 'nice', I mean I like the Esotec Dynaudio range better since they are in the same 'range'.

PDX amps are great too but personally I prefer class AB sound. Class D just sounds so muted to me.

haha, thanks for the comments guys, well for now this is what i can afford. not cheap all this, as sound system is not where u want to spend all ur savings. Maybe next round will be something better. Im very happy with what i have. u guys should try this cables called simonte. check the website out: www.tehnichiaudio.com. I set in the demo car, mad SQ. pricy as 1 set of it is around RM2,150 but worth it. Thats my next plan.

Added on September 19, 2012, 10:53 amWell depending on what you have fitted with the utopia, try putting it with a F4 PDX.. u will see the difference. I have Alpine Type X pro series aswel fitted as my back speakers. the utopia plays better. As for the Mono, Try out the Alpine PDX M-12 (1200Watts RMS) with the type X sub. u will know what im talking about.

Just an add on, if u have something better then the Utopia range, pls do tell me. Lets see which is better. 4.5K speakers are not priced that way if they were not good =)
