top up maybe 100-300 can change both for best effect

Can suggest what sort of HU and Component if I top up to RM1300?

alpine/pioneer entry level, some rm400-600+/-
then component speaker got many brands can look up this thread, or the brands thread which have previous posters giving lists of brands to look out for. best if you can audition them

Guys, my old and aeging Alpine CDE-7871E has finally crapped out.
Now can't play radio at all, although for discs still OK.

I would like to get a cheap replacement. Can anyone recommend me, of all the 4 models below, which is better for SQ?

My budge is around RM350 below, thus why the above selections .

personal opinion, not much of a difference in terms of SQ , but in terms of reliability, would advice to stay away from Sony


DEH 2450 for 350? singapore set

Kenwood u453 is a good choice

I was looking at either the DEH2450 or the GT500 due to both have RDS, which I want, but Sony has additional Time Alignment and 7 band EQ, which gives me abit more flexibility.

But is Sony that bad when it comes to reliability?

Also, why is the U453 a good choice?

personally, pioneer (if you can even get one within rm350 lol) since pioneer (and alpine) is what most/regular ICE'rs go for

Hi guys,

I'm a newbies with interest in sound system. I have just bought a whole set system. Any suggestion if taking 12" vented box for ready made or custom made better.? I just like the sound of more heavy music with some punching & tight base.
Currently I'm using for ready made box and feel like it's not that punching enough, I check from internet it state some size dimension and I compare it's difference than the ready made.

My stuff below and I'm using a saloon car;
Kenwood U453
Ameron AMA486D
Ameron AM616 component but not using crossover (x1set only)
Ameron AMA516D
Ameron AM1296 (x1 unit only)

Is this set good enough.?

Probably you want to look at the features that you would prefer to have for those HU.

peaceboy97 if u can find an installer who knows how to customize vented box accordin to your needs, then yes, if not it could make it sound worse.

hu : stock Blaupunkt
front : morel maximo 6.5
rear : stock from infront
amp : ayam brand 4ch 2000w (by sh@rty 5)
sub : small seal box with unknown brand sub (by sh@rty 5)

planning to change the HU in order to get better quality sound (budget less 600-800 if can for HU only)..

want to change amp also cause someone said i should take alpine or pioneer to power up the 90w morel.. will the ayam brand spoilt the morel? change amp, will it sound better?

In terms of screen quality, seems like kenwood better.

How about sound quality? Will it difference alot?

budget good enough for a entry-mid level alpine/pioneer HU (may need to top up a bit for the mid level)

ayam brand amp, if can pakai, you satisfied, no problem then. and no i dont think they will "spoil" the morel unless the amp are made of poor quality and have voltage surges or whatever. which i believe, AFAIK, typically the amp will fry itself instead of the speakers.
