i'm using alpine too, however its the old eub100

a simple way to identify entry/pro: entry = you can get with your budget, while pro you cant buy it, lol.
they can cost up to 2-3k, even 4-5k or more(the old alpine f#1 lol)

Guys. Getting my ride cx7 mazda recond soon. So first thing i want to do is setup the ice. Details as below. Can u recommend a reputable shop to help me out?

- [b]Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQ. car for long distance drive so must be syiok to listen to music
- [b]File format/medium used for my source: mp3, CD, dvd, gps, and ipod
- [B]Music genre: All sorts primarily Rap but not so bass heavy
- [B]Budget: 4k
- [b]Setup type preferences: Current Head unit is the touchscreen and would like to replace the same with touchscreen unit and to control back the left n reverse camera. Able to do bluetooth for phone as well.
- [b]Other requirements (if any): to increase speakers in the car as if not mistaken theres only 4 speakers in the car versus bermaz cx7 equipped with 9 bose speakers. Need to put tweeters front and rear seats however not looking for the boom box as looking at reserving boot space.

Hope you can advice me which shop can do mazda as i dgr the electronics is very manja hence may coz malfunction to other functions if not careful.

consider keeping the HU if it is able to meet your requirements in HU, then use the money for an audio processor, amp, and component set speakers.

highly recommended to still get a passive subwoofer, and there are many ways to install a subwoofer that can still allow you to retain boot space

for shops, consider looking for howiechoo at EA autoworks, carcrazy at hifi creations, non LYN shops would be kf audio or cv audio

Thanks for the reply. For the hu, im looking to change since its in jap language n furthermore the gps is not working n radio must have booster for local stations. Unless i forgo the gps n use external (a bit mafan) but still have to settle with the jap language n put n third party booster.

Or theres a way other then tis?

if radio is a must, then perhaps look for cheaper booster.

good 2din HU with gps from reputable brands cost between 2-3k or even more.
that would pretty much use up most of your budget unless you can stretch it

Hey Guys, I plan to upgrade my 2nd hand 2008 Myvi with Stock speaker&HU with limited budget around RM300+

Any recommendation? 6x9 or anything... just throw in some suggestion to me.
Btw I didn't plan to add subwoofer... Just want the SQ, Bass, Treble to be better than original...

Additional Info, usually the car only occupy 2 ppl in front...

reputable brand basic entry level component set around 400-600+
if you going with 6.5" may need to cut/mod panels which would cost a lil more extra.

Wondering which should I start first? HU or speaker? or both? even my current Nissan Sunny Chaplang 6x9 speaker setup with tweeter @RM170 paired with a JVC player @RM190 is much better than myvi current sound system...

Btw cut 6.5 u mean is cut the front one? I'm noob in Ice setup esspecially with myvi... My old Nissan Sunny just change the back 6x9 and add tweeter...

your budget only allows either 1, so i would recommend component set speakers first

Actually I haven't get the car yet, which is coming in 2 weeks... but I heard the sound system of Myvi before...
I prefer changing speaker without cutting anything >.<

i remembered howiechoo got those smaller myvi stock sized speakers, cost a bit lower, iinm 200-400? can ask him for further info
