Went to test drive for 1.6 today,
Pickup is as slow as my Kancil 850(M) when Econ mode is on, after rev up to 4000 RPM, it moves to higher gear quickly, even I step the pedal to the bottom already. Engine sound is okay, not so lousy NVH so so only, hit a pothole and heard a big noise, but suspension is acceptable to me. Door close sound doesn't really feel solid close. Overall it is a good car albeit performance is not good enough, only price is not competitive. |

Maybe date 1 day you bring your kancil over to one of the showroom then while test drive, both car drag to see if the pickup is the same. |

QUOTE(vong @ Apr 1 2012, 06:03 PM) lolzzz, previously Myvi, now Kancil. When I speed up from 20KM/h to 80KM/h, the pick up feeling was similar to my 14 years old kancil manual, except the engine noise is much much quieter. actually my Kancil manual pick up was not bad many years ago, can reach 100KM/h from 0 in 11 seconds Maybe date 1 day you bring your kancil over to one of the showroom then while test drive, both car drag to see if the pickup is the same. Next time I will try to turn off the econ mode and do a 0-100 speed test probably. |

You really have to try the car yourself and feel it. Acceleration is quite subjective although the official 0-100kmh of 11.6s is not bad. Inspira 1.8 CVT 0-100 oso 11.4s yet nobody complain it is underpowered This post has been edited by caddilac: Apr 1 2012, 06:29 PM |

I never can understand why people insist on comparing Kancils, Myvis, Vivas, Vios, City, my grandmother's car when they're all different segments! Do an apple to apple C segment of a similar engine output and price comparison la

all this argument about pickup, i remembered reading in the magazine that these c segments are designed for comfort, with smooth gear transition and steady acceleration. if compare with d segments further, you will complain the car feels much heavier.
but when the car gets fully loaded, then let's see if the kancil/myvi can even move to beat those accord/camry.. |

Sure "pawn" a lot of car... Lol... but i think those saying slower than myvi is.... in gear acceleration for myvi is slow, 0-100 on paper may look quick la. i feel its not fair to bash 1.6 is slow. i tested 1.6 forte for a few times, its not slow at all. but from static to the car move, it wont have the rush of kelisa/myvi ( light weight) those expecting a rush/awesome acceleration, must try 308thp and 1.8tsi with turbo for passat only 8.5s. QUOTE(BuFung @ Apr 1 2012, 07:32 PM) Acceleration is very important... Is doesn't mean for race... Yes, Bufung is right on this. Acceleration is important, if a car is slow on acceleration, it would mean when there is a need in overtaking car it becomes dangerous. 1.6 car not for race? Soon u see a lot of race car later... The cfe 1.6... Sure "pawn" a lot of car... Lol... I drove a Hyundai Getz 1.3 previously, and overtaking car is very dangerous with that car, due to the lack of acceleration. Not to say there is no acceleration at all, just the need for it when you need it. Yes the Proton Preve will smoke a lot of car, and i can already predict a lot of Michael Scheumacher wannabe will be driving one. This post has been edited by Madgeiser: Apr 1 2012, 07:46 PM |
