Tested 1.6hs and 1.8 with 2 in front and 1 passenger. Not really full test drive but purely to test and feel on the acceleration.

1.6h.s acceleration seems sluggish from the beginning but picking up in later stage.. yup underpower. My myvi1.3A easily win from 0-100km but personally still feel better then forte 1.6sx.
1.8 is much more feeling like driving a C-segment car and slightly better and responsive like myvi feeling but really don't feel vroom power on it. Still can bear with it.

Interior wise, in common, hand break really feeling cheapo as mentioned by some earlier. Door close sound does not really feel sound solid when slam the door... i prefer more solid sound and feel high class with that sound haha.

1.6sx, interior as expected, basic one. Leather is okay. 1.8 Nappa leather really nice. the look and feel is 1 grade upper than 1.6hs.

SA offer extra rm500 on trade in car, rm500 on tint, full tank, smartag and tissot watch if book by this week. They can't promise any better deal as they don't even know their commission at the moment...

In short, don't really feel a deal breaker at the moment. If would like to purchase, i will recommend 1.8 or go for forte 2.0.

anyway, i will not make any purchase as 1.8 is still slightly higher with current spec to me. 1.6 underpower

LOL! Are your it is only slightly better than Myvi???

test drived the 1.6 today...quite disappointed no real pick up even with eco on or off....leather seat wasnt that comfy and its abit hard to turn corners coz the car is low so harder to see when turning left or right coz the side will really block your vision...

then test drive a city....damn city has more pick up power than the elantra 1.6
*
I suppose is because the car is too stable till you don't feel the speed.

Why do you need ABS? Drive safely and logically can prevent you from braking that hard and causing the wheels to be locked. Why do you need airbags? Driving safely and logically can prevent you from having accident and the need to deploy your airbag. Do you agree?

lol. I like your comment. You should add in. All those car involved in accident are with BRAKES. Should have get a car without BRAKES. brows.gif

That one a bit different .... no matter how safe or logical, you still need brakes to stop, no?  blush.gif

Many people simply dun understand what is an accident. If an accident can be foreseen then it will never be an accident. tongue.gif

Totally agree. Since whatever car is in depreciation value. I would think that get a car with the best safety features at our affordable buying power. thumbup.gif

Went to test drive for 1.6 today,

Pickup is as slow as my Kancil 850(M) when Econ mode is on, after rev up to 4000 RPM, it moves to higher gear quickly, even I step the pedal to the bottom already.
Engine sound is okay, not so lousy
NVH so so only, hit a pothole and heard a big noise, but suspension is acceptable to me.
Door close sound doesn't really feel solid close.
Overall it is a good car albeit performance is not good enough, only price is not competitive.

lolzzz, previously Myvi, now Kancil. hmm.gif

Maybe date 1 day you bring your kancil over to one of the showroom then while test drive, both car drag to see if the pickup is the same. sweat.gif

No auto lock is exactly the same like Nissan Latio Sport as Latio is also using security key. No doubt you will take sometime to get use of it to lock your car yourself while driving.

which show room can test drive the 1.8 d?

went to Puchong one today, they say cannot test drive yet.. wtf
*
i went to puchong hyundai for test drive yesterday but only got 1.6hs, 9th april only got 1.8 premium. they dont allow for testing but when i say 'i come only after i called, you guys say say got car to test drive, only i come over'. only then they allow me to test drive. i was served by a malay SA. The SA know nothing shit about the car. only keep on pushing me to place booking.

About the driving, i would say i had a smooth drive, power is not like 'VROOMM' type but really sufficient enough for city use. I'm driving Nissan Latio Sport 1.6 and Honda City for quite sometime, so when i compare Elantra 1.6 to these 2 cars, I would say, I got no new 'kick' feeling while driving on it. I got this 'kick' feeling one my first time driving both new Nissan Latio and Honda City. I found out the side mirror and rear mirror got so many blind spots while driving since no retractable mirror on side mirror.

Sound prove is good as i cant hardly hear the tyre sound and outside noise, but when pressing on the engine, engine sound is quite noisy to me.

I had a decent drive distance from puchong, going into kesas heading towards bukit jalil, u-turn before the tol then back.

I still havent test drive on the 1.8 premium. for those who really interested to buy, i personally think that the 1.8cc is better.

Just my own opinion.

Hv test drive 1.8 this morning..1 round back fr MRR2 still no auto lock..
GPS not working, SA claim setting not yet done..
Flaws found on today's elantra test drive :
1) No power retractable side mirror
2) No auto lock
3) White is solid, not metalic, but same price as metalic
4) GPS not working, SA claim setting not yet done
5) Try to connect my Iphone, but seems detect nothing
6) Adjustment of view of side mirror not smooth, like cheap quality
7) Last...cant play DVD  rclxms.gif

I totally agree with No. 6) when you adjust side mirrow, really not smooth, i tried both side also same, really like a cheap quality while adjusting.
