Guys, i have to say bye bye to Elantra because 1st batch no dark blue for 1.8. I don't have time and patient to wait for another 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 months for second batch. Really "hello impossible" for me
I really like this car very much from the bottom of my heart, i wish this car can change or even dominate malaysian c-segment market like that Forte does I am not happy because SD should have told me earlier that which color are not available Good bye Mr. impossible!!! |

QUOTE(caddilac @ Apr 8 2012, 10:16 PM) Should try to look at which is more balanced right? Every car has their pros and cons. Heheh if that is how you feel the go for Elantra.Altis is powerful and fuel efficient but handle badly and quite tight inside also expensive. Civic also powerful and handles well but the ride is too firm for some and the powertrain is not as advanced. Sylphy very spacious but handles badly and lack of features. Mazda3 is powerful ,sporty and loaded with features but very tight back seat and quite noisy. For me Elantra is adequately powered, spacious, packed with features that met my need, very responsive gearbox and the ride is comfort enough although the engine is loud at higher rev, steering is very light and don't handle as well as Civic and Mazda3. So overall the car is quite balanced because there is nothing to shout for but also nothing very bad or lousy. And one of the very important factor is depending on your perception with the brand. I believe many people never own a korean car before so more or less there will be some weird feeling. As for Hyundai, my family have 3 hyundai before, now still have 2 in use, for me its very dependable, never give me any major problem.... heck I even drive one until radiator no water (long story) and engine shutdown.... now 2 years later still using no problem! |

QUOTE(WieBoy @ Apr 9 2012, 02:49 PM) i love Altis material, civic interior, mazda exterior styling...when you combine all into one, it became "All new GS 250". GS still in the 6AT era behind the Germans and Infiniti:P One day i will get it. Cuz it will be my wedding car Added on April 9, 2012, 2:55 pmAny1 knw in which country elantra would hav the power FOOD mirror??? very funny, i love to misspell this word. I almost mis-pronounce this word in front of SA. Who started it ya? BF, is you rite You like wood trim? Altis material is kinda mixbag for me coz the upper dash is nice but those plasticky fake wood are quite nasty and the door handle like a stick only feel fragile. ![]() |

Loan has been approved for my 1.8 purchase. HLB max 9 year rate around 2.47-2.48%. Not so ideal. Affin Bank never called me. SA told me Glenmarie HQ only submit to Affin & HLB, dunno how true as I never bother to check. Anyway gonna cancel my booking from HQ and I joined the group purchase with LTG & 666devil. SA for the Hyundai dealer said can get 2.45 from MBB. Anyone had better rates?
SA also told me there may be price increment for second batch. WTF!!! |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Apr 9 2012, 04:22 PM) Heheh if that is how you feel the go for Elantra. Yup. After owning a Hyundai in my family for couple of years, it lefts me and some of my friends wondering why spend more on Japanese when Korean can provide such a similar level of standard, better features yet at a lower price and better warranty IF resale value and driving dynamics are not your main concern (at least until now). Obviously I am not the only one to have such feeling coz even in the US, Hyundai is the brand with the highest customer retention As for Hyundai, my family have 3 hyundai before, now still have 2 in use, for me its very dependable, never give me any major problem.... heck I even drive one until radiator no water (long story) and engine shutdown.... now 2 years later still using no problem! |

QUOTE(caddilac @ Apr 9 2012, 04:28 PM) GS still in the 6AT era behind the Germans and Infiniti:P because toyota want some half elegant looks (wood) + half futuristic (black colour dash + tech) + half uncle feel (cream colour). This is their target...ALL.... LOL!!!You like wood trim? @etseleste Maybe you can pick some hard to get color, no stock for you, and you booked already, so can aim for WWW while price change won't affect you. But you banging lots of luck there.
bro caddilac will be a nice TS for owner group. have we decide what the group called? |

I have arranged for another test drive with the 1.8. Will drive out to highway this time. Will see what the SA can offer me this time around to change my mind from buying this car.

Car still in very good condition now. Resale value may not be as high compare to Japs but it is not like we are changing car every 2-3 year like insurance agents. Not sure bout other insurance agents but mine does. Buy something that u like. If everyone is concerned bout value for money then the whole road would be full of Forte only and Japs & conti car also can go mampus.
