Not necessarily but to avoid your head getting bald cause pull too much hair out tension caused by slow pc its good to have a powerful one + massive storage |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 5 2012, 07:11 PM) im on Q8400. Yup. its not so simple as upgrade processor...need to upgrade mobo also. then reinstall windows...zzz. QUOTE(mmohdnor @ Apr 5 2012, 09:13 PM) I moved from i5 750 to i7 2600K ... and very happy with it when editing RAWs in LR3/4. Everything that you tweaked responded right away. I read that LR is not so demanding on hardware. Capture NX2 is damn demanding and slow. I think I would make a switch since LR has matured somewhat. Perhaps can stretch the life of my rig a little bit more.Though i5 750 was pretty good, the more efficient i7 2600K does it better and faster. The only wait/delay is when exporting bunch of pics to .jpg after PP. QUOTE(0168257061 @ Apr 5 2012, 09:31 PM) could that be Capture NX 2 is still a cacat software ? On smaller NEF files like D700, it's not so cacat and slow. But saving one D800 NEF under Capture NX2 after making changes to the NEF file takes about at least 20 seconds to complete. When you save, it does not do anything and then towards the last 5 seconds, writes the file to disk. It's 14 bit compressed by the way. Perhaps it's because it's compressed. I read people with uncompressed NEF files work faster. But uncompressed is like 70MB per file. Previously I use the version before D800 one, damn crappy QUOTE(celciuz @ Apr 6 2012, 02:09 PM) I'm already back in Msia since Tuesday >_< Hey, that's a great idea ! Great effort that you post. I do not have photos of the last two girls you posted. Anyway, I'm trying to find time to PP but since I got back, work piling more and more. Next time I will go when it is almost ending... then after that can go shooting with the girls QUOTE(Agito666 @ Apr 6 2012, 02:27 PM) my PC is core 2 duo only wor...4GB ddr 2 ram ... Depends on what you use to edit. I believe LR is less demanding on hardware... Or rather more efficient to use your hardware.Hey, you're thinking about D800 now? You work damn hard and so long for your 24-70. The D800 is 2 times more expensive. Stick with D700 lah and you will not have problems with PC hardawre. QUOTE(shinchan^^ @ Apr 6 2012, 03:32 PM) anyone know where got stock? Most places no stock. But I think if you're willing to pay a little higher, you can get your hands on it.Anyway, the D800 is very sensitive to lens shake. I had a hard time shooting with my non VR 80-200. Perhaps it's time to retire the old horse. Also, I read some sites reporting that the left side of the AF sensor on the D800 is not giving correct focus especially on f/1.4 lenses. Will try and check mine. |

@jchue73
Can you please post up a pic of your D800 rear LCD with other camera like D700, d7000 or D3S? I got my D800 last week, and it was plagued with the green tint on LCD. Now it's back to Nikon service centre. Mine also seem to suffer from bad backfocusing issue too |
