yes, I contacted them for 2 of my cards termination.
they told me that both cards are blocked and my request for retention is subject to management approval.

let see how, would there be someone call me...?

I don't think that is gonna happen. Bank generally will not refund your GST. You should had cancelled it before it was levied. wink.gif

My call in to cnacel was doen on 4 Dec. At this point, the card is blocked only (not totally cancelled, even after 1 week)
The call from Retention Dept was on 18 Dec.

romnie can you pm me your mobile?

Added on December 26, 2012, 8:55 pmCIMB retention team called me today, they offer me a 10,000 bonus point for master card and only RM25 cashback for visa.

I ask the 0% BT. They told me this is only applicable for new applicant. It is not offer for retention purpose.

I told her, I need to consider and ask her to call back.

Hi there, newbie in this thread. Sorry if its a repeated question elsewhere. I've heard somewhere that doing BTs will hurt your credit ratings when you apply loan, is that true?

In my opinion, that is PARTIALLY TRUE.

TRUE = When you have VERY HIGH outstanding credit card balance, you are deemed to have lesser ability to make repayment because it is assumed you have to pay 5% of your outstanding credit card balance every month.

However, you can justify to the loan officer when applying for loan.

Personally, I have credit card outstanding balance of over RM 50K with 5K salary but still no problem getting housing loan (BLR-2.4%) and car loan (2.6%) (among the best interest rates during that time) approved.

FALSE = Generally most Balance Transfers do NOT appear anywhere in your "credit report" (CCRIS).
*
but there will be a outstanding balance stated there for each bank you owe

Yes, I can confirm this. I printed my CCRIS report 1 month ago, all BT that created a new 16 digits account number will show on the report.
