Usually i never check from banks websites. For latest promo, i'll call straight to banks and ask. In return, they will try to push u other services, home loans, personal loans, supplementary cards, etc. So u'll get everything in 1 call tongue.gif

Some banks are slow... but most will try to pay the other CC before the Statement Due Date (thus important to submit CC statement)

I have successfully done the BT and cash out the money due to overpaid, negative balance in CC.

Added on July 20, 2012, 8:57 am

I manage to credit back to my saving account of RM 8000 with BT (PBB > MBB). I am thinking to another way to delay my monthly installment.

For example, in simple way:

1. Bank A BT to Bank B for RM 10K for 12 months, now I owe Bank B. Cash out the 10K from Bank A due to overpaid.

2. Within 1 month & 20 days, perform another BT from Bank B to Bank C for 10K, 12 months. Now Bank B would have overpaid because the previous 10K have not billed yet, only the 1st month installment.

Conclusion, you are able to delay (2 months and 40 days) to pay the installment  and cash out the 10K at the beginning. Of course you can perform more BT in such way, provided you have a lot more CC and Credit Limit.

(Assumption: Zero charges for the BT plan)

btw, bro, what is the plan for the RM 20k being cashed out? Buy expensive stuff, invest, put in FD, put in your flexi house loan acc and won't touch it, ....?

remember that no matter what you still have to pay back the BT you owe

and another thing. most banks i know need the credit card statement to do BT. Only a few allow BT without any statement

Bear in mind, some banks treat the BT differently.

e.g. Transfer from X -> CIMB.
CIMB will show lump sum and each time you pay installment, the amount will reduce.

Transfer from X -> MBB
MBB will charge ONLY the monthly installment every month. There is no lump sum.
Therefore, you can't transfer out from MBB, unless you do not pay a single-cent for the entire period and get charged interest. Then only BT to other banks, which to me sounds pretty ridiculous doh.gif

Hi, if u wanna create debt by cashing BT, pls do it quietly.
This will be a bad example for other forumers to getting "Cash Advance" in another method.

This is "cheating" or "lying" to the bank, which some people may think it is alright to do, since his/her every friend is doing that.
I'm not sure if LYN mods will clean it up or not.

Anyway, everyone please be aware of the consequences. If found out, the banks may require you to pay back full sum immediately. Failing which, will be court case, AKPK, bankruptcy, black-listed, etc. And then we will have more threads about people unable to get future loans for cars/properties.

Most of us here promote usage of CC/BT in LYN forum here in a positive + constructive way, so that we, as consumers benefit from the usage/rewards.
On the other hand, most of us will not appreciate doing it in an un-appropriate manner, especially getting one into more debts. As much as you may have the discipline to clear your debts, but some others may not, especially at this moment, to our dear Muslim readers, with Hari Raya around the corner (1 month), I am sure they are looking for some extra cash to spend. But to me, I do not wish our Muslim readers to get into debts just because to celebrate Hari Raya once a year.

Edit: typo error.

I just want to share.
This is not consider "cheating" ok? In fact some of the bank is officially/publicly promoting it. For example, HLB BT Plus.
Under HLB BT Plus, you can straight away cash out from credit limit, Interest rate is 6.99p.a., Reducing method.
After the HLB BT plus, then perform BT to another bank which offer lower interest like 0% 6 or 12 months.
So you manage to cash out the money and enjoy 0% interest.

Is it positive & constructive enough? I am sure this is LEGAL.

Since some of the forumers are so sensitive with this, I will amend all my threads.

Thank you

If you have real outstanding and BT over, it is legal.

If you don't have real outstanding and BT over, this is a gray area, which may or may not be legal.
I'm sure BNM will be very happy to look into auditing the banks/finance which approve BT without doing sufficient checks before approving.

Whether you cash out or not, that is another point on the gray area -> legal or not when the BT is done in gray area as above ?

I do notice there is a lot of similar kind of person behave this way over here. It is just better to ignore them because they have not being taught to be rational and respect toward individual.
