QUOTE(MGM @ May 18 2012, 10:15 AM) Thank you so much, cutie, you just save me from paying interest on my CIMB BT. After reading your post I called up CIMB CS to reconfirm the final payment date. Welcome All the while I thought I need to make the final payment based on the due date of BT statement, but no it is based on when the BT took place. My first BT was done on 18/11/2011 so final payment must settle by 17/5/2012 yesterday. My 2nd BT was done on 15/12/2011 so final payment must settle by 14/6/2012. So got to rush there to pay up my 1st BT, according to CS 2 days grace period, and tomorrow is Saturday. I don't know my exact date also, but I just aware this is my 6th 5% payment due date (for CIMB BT), therefore must pay the 5% and the remaining 70% for full settlement. |

QUOTE(ronnie @ May 18 2012, 03:41 PM) Believe me that the CS know nuts on how the interest will be calculated. MGM,Either way I'm just sharing how I make my 6th month (last) payment to CIMB's BT account. How would you keep track your BT approval date for Average Joe ? I tend to agree with ronnie... my first CIMB 0% 6 months (cleared last year), I clear both the 6th 5% and remaining 70% together, about 5 days before 6th-payment due date. No extra interest/charge. This is my 2nd CIMB 0% 6 months just cleared recently. Hopefully no extra interest. Have to wait next month statement. |

Bear in mind, some banks treat the BT differently.
e.g. Transfer from X -> CIMB. CIMB will show lump sum and each time you pay installment, the amount will reduce. Transfer from X -> MBB MBB will charge ONLY the monthly installment every month. There is no lump sum. Therefore, you can't transfer out from MBB, unless you do not pay a single-cent for the entire period and get charged interest. Then only BT to other banks, which to me sounds pretty ridiculous |

QUOTE(zenhai88 @ Jul 20 2012, 02:08 PM) QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Jul 20 2012, 02:39 PM) Hi, if u wanna create debt by cashing BT, pls do it quietly. This is "cheating" or "lying" to the bank, which some people may think it is alright to do, since his/her every friend is doing that. This will be a bad example for other forumers to getting "Cash Advance" in another method. I'm not sure if LYN mods will clean it up or not. Anyway, everyone please be aware of the consequences. If found out, the banks may require you to pay back full sum immediately. Failing which, will be court case, AKPK, bankruptcy, black-listed, etc. And then we will have more threads about people unable to get future loans for cars/properties. Most of us here promote usage of CC/BT in LYN forum here in a positive + constructive way, so that we, as consumers benefit from the usage/rewards. On the other hand, most of us will not appreciate doing it in an un-appropriate manner, especially getting one into more debts. As much as you may have the discipline to clear your debts, but some others may not, especially at this moment, to our dear Muslim readers, with Hari Raya around the corner (1 month), I am sure they are looking for some extra cash to spend. But to me, I do not wish our Muslim readers to get into debts just because to celebrate Hari Raya once a year. Edit: typo error. This post has been edited by cute_boboi: Jul 20 2012, 02:57 PM |

QUOTE(zenhai88 @ Jul 20 2012, 05:06 PM) I just want to share. If you have real outstanding and BT over, it is legal. This is not consider "cheating" ok? In fact some of the bank is officially/publicly promoting it. For example, HLB BT Plus. Under HLB BT Plus, you can straight away cash out from credit limit, Interest rate is 6.99p.a., Reducing method. After the HLB BT plus, then perform BT to another bank which offer lower interest like 0% 6 or 12 months. So you manage to cash out the money and enjoy 0% interest. Is it positive & constructive enough? I am sure this is LEGAL. Since some of the forumers are so sensitive with this, I will amend all my threads. Thank you If you don't have real outstanding and BT over, this is a gray area, which may or may not be legal. I'm sure BNM will be very happy to look into auditing the banks/finance which approve BT without doing sufficient checks before approving. Whether you cash out or not, that is another point on the gray area -> legal or not when the BT is done in gray area as above ? |

A special interest rate of 8.99% flat per annum (equivalent to effective interest rate of 16.23%) will be charged to the CardMember’s account based on the amount approved. This is a one time interest rate and will be calculated upfront on the Principal amount and will be billed over a period of thirty six (36) months instalment (e.g. for approved balance transfer or QuickCash amount of RM20,000, the monthly instalment is computed as follows: [RM20,000 + (RM20,000 x 8.99% x 3 years)] / 36 months = RM705.39 per month).
