Survey reveals many Malaysians do not settle their debts in full each month
Guys, When performing BT, pls be responsible and pay up your statement balance on time all the time BT is a double edge sword. It can help you save a lot of interest but at the same time if not managed properly, it will kill you faster than those who don't do BT |

QUOTE(brotan @ Jul 12 2012, 11:45 AM) Survey reveals many Malaysians do not settle their debts in full each month +1. We did mentioned this before at the previous BT thread and also in Gen X blog. How bank generate revenue from CC users.Guys, When performing BT, pls be responsible and pay up your statement balance on time all the time BT is a double edge sword. It can help you save a lot of interest but at the same time if not managed properly, it will kill you faster than those who don't do BT This is why bank offer CC to us with number of cashback or benefit. Be a smart CC users. Else, fall in the trap plotted by banks. |

For Citibank's BT, previously warned by Ronnie and hye where it's Tricky...
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Since that time i have around 5.5k++ on Citibank's C.C. account... I've opted to that time's Promo.. that is 0% interest for 6 Months, but as subject to how the T&C stated.. no idea on how it cuts my "total" spendings. after 1 month applied that BT, it directly cuts 3k out from my 5.5k Extra balance on the C.C. Will take a pic and show it.. and after i called the "Customer careline", they mentioned that your BT has cleared out due to the "Funds" within the Extra limit is enough to clear out directly... So... |

QUOTE(zenhai88 @ Jul 5 2012, 08:37 AM) Guy, I am thinking to use the BT to cash out. Please share/advise me whether it works. I did that vs 2 banks, initially it works but some banks begin to be suspicious, e.g. bank will ask for the proof of overpaid amount such as deposit slip, then it involves more issues bcos I won't admit that I overpaid so I can get paid back to my current/saving account.Card P 20k CL, no outstanding balance Card M 20K CL, no outstanding balance BT to Card P 16k, then Card M would have overpaid of 16k. After that call the customer service to transfer back into my current account. Can it be done in this way? At last I have to use other channels to "spend" the overpaid amount so I can get paid back, but it's real tough, worth if it's 0% bt offer, otherwise, u have to consider whether worth to get all kinds of troublesome & delay. Suggestion to do channel out bt amount in cash, do it with HLB CC, it's kind of open secret in the industry if u understand how it works. |

For UOB BT Program, please ensure your final payment is exactly on the Expiry Date of the BT in order not to pay Early Settlement (if early) or Finance Charges (if late).
You can call the Customer Service to check the expiry date of your BT program. IMHO, these BT program with Early Settlement Fee should be avoided This post has been edited by ronnie: Jul 19 2012, 08:07 AM |
