IeR: Thank you that you explained @eddybeh. It was an opportunity for all of us to learn. Your explanation is logical but somehow I feel the Picture # 1 is very nice. It seems to urge the viewer to link the missing line. The proportion and contour between sky color and earth color is also interesting. please let me know your comment on my idea.

Somehow I feel this (#1) is the best among the three. And I was also wondering if eddybeh him/herself feels the same. Please let me know eddubeh (or if anyone else think that is the best among the three) what your mind said before reading IeR'r comment.

eddy, to learn to see a good photo, u have to learn several photo elements,
1. emotion, the photo doesnt emphasis on emotion since its not potrait, so its okay.
2. colors, colors can portray emotion, color used is light, light sky, light ground(soft brown) to tell slow and smooth...
3. contrast, strong contrast on the human shows, well, many human busy with action, strong contrast usually show crashing element, activity, busy little humans.
4. Texture, is what u get from contrasts too, the first photo has very bad angle and crashing of texture(trees and buildings), causing conflict in direction. picture 2 and 3 has better harmony of texture
5. Shape: which, u have to remove emotion(people), color(errrm), contrasts(shadows), texture(trees) to see.

now, let me know, which shape is the most harmonious to you? smile.gif that is your best photo.

[attachmentid=2769432]

[attachmentid=2769434]

[attachmentid=2769435]

you see, the composition for the first pic is stuck half way, telling no story. the soft skin(was it celled teal? or peach color?) color is not connected properly, no repeat feature.
picture 2, has a little contracting feature, point to left then turn right then up.
[attachmentid=2769457]
picture 3, is the most harmonious leading line and repeating pattern. do you see it?

rah@: there is too much negative space on the mid lower right side (the tree and slope). it disturbs the harmony of the picture... that why. the left side wall of china is too left, and leaving negative space on the right, having improper composition. the shape i drew, is directly drew on the picture itself, that is the shape it has taken, when u able to throw away all other element and leaving only shape, that is when u see the real whole composition ppl been talking bout 'why your pic lack compo'

but again, there is no right or wrong in photography, just getting the best angle smile.gif

rah@ : There's is no right or wrong. And different people have different tastes. For me, most times I go with gut feel. Compose, shoot and then check and see if it's ok. That's the greatest thing about digital photography - INSTANT FEEDBACK! If it's not quite right, adjust and shoot again. Of course it helps to have the basics of compositions in mind, like rules of thirds and leading lines etc.

Gouki : No worries! Just shoot and shut them all up with your pictures! Technical specs are just technical specs. It all depends on the person using the tool. Give the A77 to a monkey and it most probably cannot take a decent picture to save its own life!

sugaring : Eh? Why the flare? Would have preferred it without the flare.

Zicron : I like the look from the model. Fits the premise and theme of Blood+ but I absolutely hate the presence of the wheel at the right of the frame. I would go for a tighter crop and cut out most of the background. It just does not fit with the look. That's what I feel though.

Cut out the irritating wheel. Crop closer on the top. Leave just a little space above her hair and if only her right hand was not on that railing and was just hanging down casually. it would have looked like she just turned her head around after something got her attention off screen.

Can't find the difference??!! Why all the specs are almost the same for F42 & F43 except for the most important fact that F43 has got the COBRA ACTION !!!!!

If you are comparing the F56 and the F58 then forget the F56 and get the F58. It will be worth the extra money just for the COBRA ACTION alone!!! Trust me. Once you go cobra, there is no going back!

If you do not know what cobra action means, go see the picture in this link:

Cobra action

It may not look like much but it's one heck of a useful feature.

It's the feature that all Canikon shooters will ask about tongue.gif "What is that? Wow... so convenient"
