hello people.
Did anybody here attended the Shell interview session for trainee operation technician at Hilton Hotel Kuching on 17April 2012?
I am just wondering whether anybody that attended that interview session receive any news about the application because my status is still "final assessment" since last month.?
Any reply would be greatly appreciated..
TQ.

Added on May 19, 2012, 4:41 pmHi, to all the Sensai !! I am a Mechanical Engineering Student who will be graduating in this coming July. OnG has always been my dream job, and i am really hope to get in to this challenging industry. I currently seeking for a job in OnG but couldn't get any responses from the big player yet, I've try looking for exxo and petronas, but they do not have any opening for fresh graduate like me. Does anyone of you have any good recommendation how can i apply to these companies or any other good companies ?
I also have some experience in rotating machinery during my intern in maintenance department, hopefully this will help.

Really hope to get some response from all the experts here. Thanks alot !! icon_question.gif

I'm kinda annoyed with this kind of spoon-fed grads. Do you know how hard it is for me to finally get a job? How many applications? Geeezzzz.....so annoyed. You think it's that easy? Asking for guidance but you didn't even do your homework. What guidance? Guidance to get a job? Guidance about the industry? Get some overview, do your homework for God's sake. mad.gif

LOL! True to that. Read from v1 lah, that's what I do when I was fresh out of the 'oven' unemployed for 6 months. But yeah, I am still fresh now. Still 0.00001% knowledge. -___-''

Lol------I feel you.

Er I really can't brain this types of post...... O&G or not applying for a job is the same in every sector. And these people are going to be engineers?

Students.....working life is different although some companies 'mentor you/nurture you' in a sense the "best'"ones usually just throw you there and expect you to get the job done and you either sink or swim.

My opinion it is not worth and don't give an advantage. Firstly because an offshore safety passport is nothing really special not like a special skill that you have or related work experience. This is because any tom d*** and harry can have an offshore safety passport provided they are fit and have the money. Secondly to do a medical check and BOSET will cost in total of 600+1800 = 2400 which is not really a significant amount for a company to pay to send an employee there. Some may think that maybe the company need people urgently to go offshore, yes it may happen, but as a fresh grad it would be unlikely for a company to hire a person without experience to do an urgent job because fresh grad do not have enough training. Besides that, the company could hire a freelancer or find another resource to fill the gap.

i first time attend walk in.Not sure whether is it consider overwhelming or not. But the 800 numbers for candidate is running out and i believe there got more than thousand people attended. Furthermore the hr ppl already filtrate out those fresh graduate ( ask them sumbit cv, no interview). For me, the interview is just chitchat, so wait whether got second in or not lar if i am lucky enough.

Read!!!!!!!!! If you cannot read the threads here, I cannot imagine how you can read your coursework. There is only like 3 version of this thread which is around 6000 posts which is less than a 200 page novel. So hard ahh?
