do offshore company prefer fresh graduate that have sea survival training?? does this increase a chance to land a job?? im thinking about getting offshore safety passport, is it worth it if i pay my self@self sponsored..

My opinion it is not worth and don't give an advantage. Firstly because an offshore safety passport is nothing really special not like a special skill that you have or related work experience. This is because any tom d*** and harry can have an offshore safety passport provided they are fit and have the money. Secondly to do a medical check and BOSET will cost in total of 600+1800 = 2400 which is not really a significant amount for a company to pay to send an employee there. Some may think that maybe the company need people urgently to go offshore, yes it may happen, but as a fresh grad it would be unlikely for a company to hire a person without experience to do an urgent job because fresh grad do not have enough training. Besides that, the company could hire a freelancer or find another resource to fill the gap.

This is reality, My boss sometimes used this sentence, the most brag and vainglorious? others to respect me? I dont need people's respect, up to you, NOT MY PROBLEM! and which question I dont want to answer?
*
This is why O&G operators have such strict recruitment process to stream out people like this. Attitude of "not my problem" shows that the person is not a team player and have no teamwork skills. Working offshore with people like this is a hazard due to ignorance and careless attitude. Main reason why operators have policies like "You See, You Act" not "You See, NOT MY PROBLEM".

yeah, thats pretty bad lots of them dont wanna receive hardcopies of resume, they just want us email them... wonder what kind of test would it be tomorrow?
*
I did that test before. It is an English and IQ test. The english test is basically grammar and sentence construction. The IQ test is not difficult too but time consuming. If not mistaken english test got 20 questions and IQ about 30/40 which is to be completed in one hour (without calculator). I didn't have enough time to complete it, in the end I just tembak the back questions and I passed. I think the test just wants to make sure you can think normally and english command is good.

I dont know if this is the appropriate thread to ask, but does anyone know if Exxon has a gym in their office or if they have allowance for employees to sign up at their club of choice?

The exxon thread is full of questions but no answers and is pretty much dead.

They have their own gym is basic but sufficient. Also got benefit for social club membership I believe it is for professional clubs or gym.

Not many in Exxon dare to speak in forums coz the control is so strict sad.gif

This is what all grease monkeys are looking for, feast on this laugh.gif

Raw Crude Oil straight from the reservoir. Smells a bit like petrol but not so strong.
