My setup:
Network: RPi -> Gigabit LAN cable -> 500Mbps Homeplug -> downstairs' Homeplug -> Gigabit LAN cable -> ASUS N66U Wifi Router -> UniFi Power: Old blackberry charger Video: Yellow component/RCA cable network speed seems slow, but not really sure. video to TV is zoomed/clipped at the sides, which is expected when viewing on an analog/old tv display. expected, but annoying. no setting in raspbmc to "zoom out" the UI/video a bit. keyboard: ![]() (ignore the korean keys on the image) I think this is the best kind of keyboard+mouse for RPi+XBMC, imo. In lowyat for RM120. This post has been edited by C-Fu: Nov 23 2012, 12:42 AM |

QUOTE(TechnoDude94 @ Nov 23 2012, 03:01 PM) Yea, I missed it. I'll settle for the MK802+ for now. Or maybe the MK808 and then get the RPI and it's re-stocked. Thanks mate! Don't get MK808. There are some major flaws to that.I'll be compiling info on the just-launched MK809 on my guide thread, which should be a lot better than MK809, for starters, it uses AmLogic instead of Rockchip's implementation of Cortex A9. From the MK802 times lagi AmLogic seems to support the community by releasing their bootloader/source, which is why development for Linux and other OSes for MK802 is far stronger and faster than MK808. |

This is based on reading the previous replies from the thread and your thread regarding one-stop DIY HTPC. Really good read I must say! Cheers. Seems like the RPI is much better than the Rockchip-ones as it's community/support is much larger. Just wished that it's in stock now!!! |

QUOTE(TechnoDude94 @ Nov 23 2012, 06:19 PM) Thanks for the advice Sifu (C-Fu, get it?). I'd also with you regarding support. I think worth it for RM 125 as after November, R-Pi will be RM 111+RM 20 for delivery. And the last time I ask, which is last week, 3 weeks need to be waited for new R-Pi. So my hand itchy, order MK 808 V2 this afternoon, this evening R-Pi restock and selling like hot apam balik. Sorry bro, but isn't element14 providing free shipping? How come there's suddenly an extra RM20 shipping surcharge? But nevertheless still a worth it deal compared to your MK808. This is just awesome. Ever since young I've dreamt of having a PC in the size of my palm. And after an hour of hacking my name card box, it's actually practical man!
![]() btw, I've just tested RPi+18000mAh portable charger (I really don't think it's 18k mAh, too small to be that Tomorrow need to get a small USB wifi that doesn't need a powered usb hub, and I'm all set! QUOTE(TechnoDude94 @ Nov 23 2012, 06:19 PM) Btw, should add some info regarding the MK 802 II and MK 802 III just so readers can further distinguish. If you have some then make a post and help the LYN community! This post has been edited by C-Fu: Nov 24 2012, 09:19 AM |

Anyone of you setup the Pi as email server?
I've tried citadel, but the smart host / relay host is not working. Now trying Postfix + courier + squirrelmail, but having some IMAP error. |
