That is strange when you need to power up the RPi through USB port and not through microUSB power port.

pi got restocked at element14. stock count is about 1400+ so there's plenty to purchase!

i just ordered one. the web will not show free shipping, but when I receive the order acknowledgement it's stated there that the shipment is indeed free.

I used this buffalo adapter for wireless and it's working fine for arch linux

Would you mind sharing your experience on using Rasp?

I would like to know the overall performance. Are you fully satisfied? I know it can play h.264 1080p, but what about lossless audio(dts-hd ma and truehd)? Hows the menu navigation speed? What about loading images(fanart etc).

thanks.

This is in fact a better method and less cables as most of the time you want the powered USB hub to power up yr accessories like wifi adapter, usb hdd, BT adapters & RPi too and only have USB data going into the RPi.. ( Just make sure the Powered USB hubs can supply enuf power to all the accessories & RPi )

See my previous posting on this backpower ...

I run mine without any issues for 7 days with a wifi adapter on it..

That is why I told people to place order even if it show out of stock.

There were signs that new stock coming in. from 1.4k to 700, seriously lots of people buying it for fun.

I wish, they would offer a good price set/combo for psu, camera, wifi, usb hub, heatsink and casing.

+keyboard and mouse
+monitor
+sdcard for os
++breakout box for GIOP.

Then it would be more complete.

<*just buy a chrombook... lol... would be the end result.>

I have no exp with that as I don't use the pi for entertainment box. I can't find the codec used for the audio, so my guess is it's built-in, so the quality is nothing to be amazed of.

has anybody gotten their 512MB version and made comparison with the 256MB version?

any noticeable performance improvement when running RaspBMC or XBian? based on a post on XBian it seems better to use the 512MB version....

what about OC ability with the 512MB? better? worse?

better buy outside for PSU & sdcard. original phone/tablet chargers works wonderful already.
8GB sdcard is dirt cheap. sandisk 8GB class 4 can be cut to half so it's not sticking out

Even if it's out of stock you can still take advantage of the limited time free shipping by ordering and paying it during the free period.
