QUOTE(Maxieos @ Aug 24 2019, 05:47 AM) How do you think about running it for 24/7 ? I ve let it run bittorrenting for 24/7 once only so far. Got a bit warmer but still ok cos I have the alloy heat sink case with 2 fans on.Some review it stutter even running 4k on youtube. Usage as NAS , or as Media center installing emteria.OS for android ? Stuttering 4K youtube? sometimes only probably when the files are big. Can't compare to a dedicated pc though for the size, processor and price. I like the portability of it bringing it to travel like I did recently to Redang. OMV is not ready for RPi4 yet, so is Ubuntu Mate. This post has been edited by seehong: Aug 24 2019, 08:55 AM |

Any alternatives for OMV until it's ready?Stuttering 4K youtube? sometimes only probably when the files are big. Can't compare to a dedicated pc though for the size, processor and price. I'm probably just gonna use it mostly with jdownloader, running Kodi, and some Usenet. |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Aug 25 2019, 11:54 PM) Any alternatives for OMV until it's ready? As of writing, no OMV updates yet for RPi4B. Running is Kodi is a little faster than my earlier card.I'm probably just gonna use it mostly with jdownloader, running Kodi, and some Usenet. I still prefer Manjaro to Raspbian for its smoothness especially browsing. |

Is the performance of pi4 4GB good enough for multi tasking/multi web browsing? Currently using the pi3, but if I view several videos/tabs (ie YouTube) in chromium, the browser might crash/hang.

New contender from HardKernel:
https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/odroid-c4/ QUOTE ODROID-C4 is a new generation single board computer that is more energy efficient and faster performing than ODROID-C2 which was introduced over four years ago as the world’s first affordable ARM 64bit computer. The main CPU of the ODROID-C4 is built with a quad-core Cortex-A55 cluster with a new generation Mali-G31 GPU. The A55 cores run at 2.0Ghz without thermal throttling using the stock heat sink allowing a robust and quiet computer. The CPU multi-core performance is around 40% faster, and the system DRAM performance is 50% faster than the ODROID-C2. |
