QUOTE(sky03 @ May 20 2015, 09:38 PM) anyone here hav idea how to load balancing network raspi as router? i saw youtube some guy did it but no tutorial watsoever... google it too but in vain... btw the guy make his raspi router to connect multiple access point n some how it does improve bandwidth n speed overall... i wonder how he did it... really interesting If you don't have more than 1 internet connection then you can pretty much forget about it. It is for those with multiple internet(WAN). Like you have one line with Maxis and one line with Unifi. Then you can aggregate(combine) the bandwidth(bonding) for better speed or load balance the bandwidth for fair share, depending on what settings that you wanted to use. Typically these kind of features are only available on mid-high end routers. But since routers are also devices running Linux, so raspi can do it as well. Even your computer can do it too if you install Linux on it and buy some extra network card. For the sake of testing, you can put your 3g dongle, or yes's 4g dongle to test it, but with the limited quota, I don't think you will want to do so. You can use the link below, commands on Debian should work without issue as Raspbian is Debian based. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrom...+load+balancing

Openelec Kodi of course, plays my media really well Even streams mkv files around 20-30gb from my NAS with no problem But for reason, if I tried streaming similar files (+20gb) from my pc, it lags a bit, guess got some problem with onboard LAN.

NAS is Network Attached Storage. Hard disk shared to the whole network. Haven't tried Ubuntu MATE before, try Raspbian because there are lots of users so the probability of getting help is higher lol.

BTW, what type of usb wifi adapter u use bro? those with anthenna? you have two options, which I think are more suitable(easy setup and best performance) depending on your usecase. If you are the only one using the raspi, put your raspi at your room and buy a raspi compatible wifi adapter(literally plug and play instead of having to configure it) and plug a lan cable to your desktop/switch. Whether you need antenna or not depends on your distance of your raspi with your router. If you need to share the services(movies, torrent, file sharing and etc) with other family members, then just buy a lan cable and plug it to your router.

QUOTE(MrLoo @ May 25 2015, 05:38 PM) Thanks for your guidance. If you're going to get a usb wifi adapter, you may need to get a usb powered hub(you need to check on the internet to see if it can be powered from raspi's usb power alone or not). If you're using TP Link 727N, or any MT7601 based usb wifi adapter, you can use the command below NOTE: for Raspi B, B+ only CODE rpi-update 4e2845e0cbe7e701f0431e66a26f730de264e7a6
wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/80256631/mt7601-3.18.11-777.tar.gz tar xzf mt7601-3.18.11-777.tar.gz ./install.sh
