Hi! Some retailers mostly the small shops that accepts credit card impose a fee if we pay by credit card instead of cash. I am wondering, is this legal? Is this within their right to do? I heard in Singapore, merchants that does this can be reported to MC or VISA as these charges are to be born by the merchant and not the consumer. What is your say?
*
Of course it's illegal for merchant to charge "additional fees" for using Credit Card payment.

Since you don't earn any income, you won't get the CC even you have a loan with them.
Which bank "so stupid" didn't check basic income before pre-approval ?

I think the 1-hour issuance for MACH by HLB doesn't apply to existing HLB CC holders (according to jonjack88)

Hi guys, i called a 5 star hotel to book for a buffet dinner, and the staff asked me to give him my credit card number and expiry date of the card, so called to ''secure'' my booking. Security number on the back of the card is not needed.

I am using a RHB Visa card, can they or anyone else do anything (such as fraud transaction) by using that 2 numbers only? (the main credit card number and expiry date)

Thank u^^
*
Which 5-star Hotel requires such info for booking ? Normally I wouldn't provide. Just eat elsewhere.
Does that mean I will becharged if "no-show" ?

I performed Online Bill Payment for Astro via
1. OCBC Online Banking
2. SCB Online Banking
Both were done on the 16-Sep-2012 (few mins apart)

The SCB payment was reflected earlier compared to OCBC.... brows.gif

the question is, why you choose to pay astro using SCB and forego 5%?
*
Because SCB's was 100% rebate > 5% right ?
It's from the SCB Preferred WMC Card Application cashback.

How long is advisable if I want to terminate my newly applied credit card? Got SCB Plat around May12, no longer in use after I spent the RM300 cash rebate.
*
Just cancel it and get another RM100 free cash. (Must maintain for 6 months)

this might be answered a few posts ago, but sorry if i ask again...

for fuel transactions (doesnt matter which card)...if i swipe it at the pump, there will be some floating amount (rm200-rm250) right? how about if i swipe it at the counter? will there be those floating amount as well, or will it be deducting the amount as what i told the cashier to charge me? hmm.gif
*
Counter swipe will not have the "pre-authorization amount" has the cashier will know the EXACT amount to be paid.

Thanks. SO untill now, if mainly purpose for petrol...is UOB is the best choices?
*
That's what I use my UOB ONE Card for... petrol and TnG reloads (@ selected petrol stations).
I pump only when it's EMPTY, thus can't time weekends.

If you use BHP + UOB ONE card, you can get 5% Cash rebate + 2% SmartCa$h

Is there any minimum threshold before card issuer charge the card holder?  icon_question.gif

Which bank's credit card is this ?
You should see Interest/Finance Charges in the 28-Sep-2012 Statement for the RM100 (unpaid)

My last posting that you deemed offensive was a question. Read again if you may. Threats & attacks? Wow, so judgmental & again assuming.
I don't even call it debate, i'm seeking clarification from you. Both of my postings that caught your attention was made in the form of QUESTION.
I'm not even promoting any banks nor did my post encourage readers to "abuse" their credit cards.
I'm open to feedback BUT at least do it constructively instead of assuming that my posts will mislead the readers here. I've gone thru my postings after your feedback & i honestly couldn't see what is wrong hence i replied again in PM.
You are seriously undermining level of intellects of masses here. If you think i violated any of the forum rules with my postings, please share it with me & quote those clauses. Moderation should be done based on that, not based on moderators personal belief. I stand corrected.
If i'm at wrong, i will apologize.

Your post has nothing wrong, but we don't like to "mislead" newbies on CC Interest Charges.
CC Interest Charges are evil.

You are smart, thus you ask smart questions... but there are also "not-so-smart" fellas reading this forum.
