Wanna ask if anyone got a silicon casing for the tab.
I think its lighter for purpose of viewing ebook or watching a movie when 'baring2' on the bed. Not so bulky to hold

What did you do or did you install any app before this happen
If tab cannot be switch on, switch off. Boot into recovery mode ( press volup+power simultaneously ) n select clear cache n restart. If still cannot select clear data factory reset
*
Before this I DL an app from market call appstar & install, brows the appstar for a while. Few hour later try to turn on it can not turn on.
I follow your step by boot into recovery mode, but its only allow me to do power off. Luckily still can go into setting mode & I do a factory reset. Now it's back to normal but everything gone, but it's ok, I don't have many data or apps inside yet, only some HD show & few mp3 songs.... sweat.gif
Thanks for your help Benny... thumbup.gif
Can I install that "appstar" again see it will happen again or not??? tongue.gif

I forgot to tell you guy the cook rom by sk806 comes with writable ext sd card feature, meaning now you can copy files directly onto the external sd card inside the Tab. Previously I edit the /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml to have this feature enabled
Another noticeable feature when you press power button, you get additional option to Restart and Reboot into recovery - very convenient feature
Overall the cook rom is slicker vs stock rom

Yesterday I did a test : i restore back my stock rom with all its apps and I installed the cook rom directly on top of it, it was a breeze but the reboot takes up to 6 minutes since I have a lot of apps.
However the rom developer do not recommend this and advise you do a factory reset first - the choice is up to you

Used for a few days. So far so good, no problems. Everything seems to work fine. I find the performance of this tab is better than my SGS2, very few lags and better response all around.(maybe slightly better hardware or thanks to Honeycomb 3.2?)

Only complaint is some of the apps the fonts size too small and can't resize....i guess it's app dependant....one problem of the Android market...apps still not really optimized for tablet.

Maybe ICS will fix some of these issues.

Rooting allows you admin rights to phone file system. Rooting will allow you to install apps that need to access file system eg
- Titanium Backup : Full backup and restore of apps n its data. If you uase MyBackup Pro - rooting will allow you full restore automatically not one by one selection
- AdsFree to eliminate those nasty ads popping out
- install fake telco apps so that you can access more free and paid apps - eg market enabler or marketaccess
- Root explorer example so that you can edit sytem files, eg editing permission.xml to have ext sdcard able to be written in phone
- Install Clockworkmod recovery : do full rom backup plus restore, flash kernel, flash rom, flash modem etc

To root or not is entirely up to each user. Put it this way, rooting will enhanced your Tab usage with much more additional features - it is unleashing the hidden power of a 3000 cc car behind the 2000 cc car engine

You need at least 2A to charge the Tab . Anything lower you will see battery charging crossed out and extremely slow , which is as good as not charging it

With all these new launches with ICS enabled, sometimes I wonder how much longer we have to wait for ICS on other Samsung smartphones and tablets. Those who want ICS on the tablets will buy these newer entries and even possibly current owners of the tablets who just cannot wait for the ICS

uncle benny, I've used it with chargers less than 1A (0.7A & 0.8A) and the battery charging is NOT crossed out... it indicates battery is charging

without the micro usb charger, it will not charge 100% even after leaving overnight

don't know why the adapter works, but it does biggrin.gif

it's not a charger but a 30pin to micro usb adapter...

use any regular charger with micro usb connection to charge your tab
