Any of you Asus users have problems with the wifi?

My Zenbook UX32VD very fussy with wifi leh, a lot of wireless routers it refuses to stay connected for more than 10-15 minutes. Connect liao can browse internet etc then after that 10-15mins it will disconnect and refuse to reconnect unless I restart the laptop.

try update your wifi card driver. before doing that, uninstall previous driver. make sure you backup your older wifi driver. if something wrong happen on your laptop. you can restore the old driver.

Anyone tried to clean the fan of N43SL model before?
Is there any video showing this? I have been trying to search online about this and couldn't find it.

The temperature of my laptop will go very high after turned on for a few hours right now. :S

Hey guys.

I'm currently using an Asus X42 which has an easy to remove back cover and I noticed that the vents below the laptop have a black plastic covering them.

My laptop is prone to heating up quickly and I just folded the plastic to allow more airflow and the temp dropped about 8 degrees C.

I'm wondering whether it's the same for the other models and should i remove it?

You would probably have to order overseas and customize one.

Which other models? If you think removing the plastic helps with the temperature, then go ahead and remove it. So long as you don't feel like there's something missing or it's an eyesore.

There is a possibility that the fan is clogged up by dust. Can you try cleaning it first?

Ah right, maybe you could try sending it in for a repaste or ask someone to help if you don't want to suffer the maintenance time.

I found a disassembly guide here:

In the first picture, you can clearly see the bottom vents are not covered, in which you can see the hard disk and RAM.

In my case just folding is enough to reduce the temp, so I'm leaving it that way. I wonder why there's a plastic sheet blocking it in the first place if it's just gonna increase the internal temperature hmm.gif

This is funny. I don't remotely remember my A42JV having a piece of plastic covering it. But still, if it works for you then keep it that way! smile.gif
