Why ASUS?

Are you in the market for a laptop but don't want to spend a whole lot of money? If so, consider the ASUS name brand. ASUS has many years of experience in the industry and makes some of the highest consumer rated laptops and has repeatedly been commended for their reliability and advancements, in line with their motto of "Inspiring Innovation, Persistent Perfection".

QUOTE
Reliability

Institutions simply cannot afford downtime. Expensive IT resources are required to fix computer problems, but more importantly, business can lose sales, students can miss lessons, and doctors can miss urgent information. ASUS demands the utmost in quality in every product that carries our brand name to keep downtime to an absolute minimum. In fact, ASUS was recently recognized again by RESCUECOM as the most reliable notebook and netbook brand.

Service

When you buy ASUS notebooks for your institution, you can rest assured that you are backed up by the BEST complimentary service package in the industry. At no extra cost, you receive:

ADW Warranty*: An accidental damage warranty that protects against drops, spills, fire, and electrical surges
ASUS 360 Warranty: A comprehensive 2 year global notebook warranty that includes a flawless display (zero bright dot) guarantee, free two way standard shipping for RMAs, and 24/7 US-based tech support

*Applies in the USA and Canada only

ASUS Making History

ASUS products make history. Here are some of the more notorious feats ASUS notebooks have accomplished that illustrate the quality, reliability, and superb engineering that go into every ASUS notebook:

QUOTE
1998, Space:  ASUS visited space when a Russian cosmonaut brought a high-performance ASUS notebook along for his two year mission to the International Space Station.  Even under the rigors of space flight, the notebook delivered outstanding stability and reliability.

2004, Amazon Rain Forest:  Field conditions don’t get any more extreme than in the Amazon rain forest.  That’s why China’s 2004 Amazon Expedition team chose ASUS.  The notebook performed flawlessly, playing a vital role in the expedition’s success.

2004, Antarctica:  Mountaineers brought ASUS along for their ascent to Vinson Massif, the highest peak on Antarctica.  Under the harshest weather conditions imaginable, including high wins and temperature as low as -60 degrees F, the notebooks worked perfectly.

2007, Mount Everest:  In 2007, ASUS notebooks conquered Mount Everest.  Other brands began the ascent up the tallest mountain in the world, but only the ASUS notebook functioned at the top.

If ASUS notebooks can perform this well in the harshest of conditions, think what they can do for you.

My n55 is having this problem that When I run games for about 1-2hour (depends on luck or what IDK) a BSOD will surely occur (eg: NFSRun , L4D2 , F12011)

What I did : Use High Perf settings , Upgrade Nvidia Drivers , Using 1x 4GB ram instead of 2 , switch slot of ram

I know N is not for gaming but surely GT555M can tahan rite??? so any1 help to solve??? Thx alot in advance
*
Has your BSOD problem been happening since you got the laptop?

You should also ask here in the dedicated thread, they might have more input for you smile.gif

The bloatware is only in the recovery. A fresh install only has the bare minimum OS. However, you would need to download some drivers for the hotkeys etc.

From what I see on the Asus website, the zenbook ux31 doesn't have a dedicated GPU for gaming so I believe you can't run Starcraft 2 on it. Not sure how well it could run HoN tho, but I think you can at least run it on low setting.

Anyone here ever successfully oc the gpu like this? http://hwbot.org/hardware/videocard/geforce_gt_550m/ hmm.gif
*
Well, running it is no problem but how smooth it is will be another matter. brows.gif

But with the HD3000, you can just play SC2 on low. Most other games should just be about playable. HoN is no doubt one of them.

A-series doesn't have backlit keyboards.

Currently, only the G-series has it.

Most obvious is the GPU. But basically the GT610M is a rebadged GT520MX so this would be slightly faster than the old model. Other changes could be the CPU and the HDD used.

Just a quick confirmation..

Asus A-series does not come with a backlit kb? Any option to add that in? I am too used to backlit kb that I can't live without one =,=
*
You can always mod it yourself. Some people have successfully taken the backlit keyboards from the older U/UL-series and installed it into the A-series but that would require some dismantling.

GT630m < GT540m. That what i'm sure about the GPU. Of course the new I5-2450m win I5-2430m. Other than that i think it have common feature with others A-series.
*
A GT630M is a rebadged GT540M. Performance is exactly the same if the clocks are the same.

Make sure the GPU is toggled and it's not using the integrated one I guess.

want to ask about a43ta..did someone here owner of a43ta...can give some review,,i would like to buy it,,but need some advise if it value to buy,,hehe..thx
*
It's a good option for gamers on a budget. If the crossfire software for the GPUs is working properly, you can get the performance of a GTX560M. Otherwise, it still can play most games.

QUOTE(dark saber @ Mar 27 2012, 11:26 AM)
Hi there & sorry to throw a question like this but I seriously need some opinions and recommendations from you all.

I survey through Low yat plaza and found a laptop
Brand : Asus
Model : A43 but i not sure about the code behind...
the seller say is limited edition....
Spec : Intel i5 2nd gen,
Window 7 Home Premium
Nvidia GT Graphic Card (forget the number olredi...)
Ice cool technology
4 gb ram (the seller say can help me upgrade foc)
USB Port 3.0 (dont know are all or only 1 prt is 3.0)
Price : Special offer RM 2200 include accessories and back pack

HOWEVER, I could not find any asus model which suits the above specs on internet...
Pls help me find out what is this model and any reviews or comments of this model~ Many thx~
*
Probably the model is an A43SM. It's not a limited edition at all.

It retails for RM2099, comes with an i5-2450M, 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD and an Nvidia GT630 and would come with its own carry sling bag. The RM2200 he's charging is probably going into the RAM and extra accessories.
