Seems ok but a bit high on the DS Line Attenuation (Downstream) but still within the "good" category so its ok.

Overall your line should be nice and stable.

I just moved to a new house and transferred line.

SNR Margin: 10.2 7.7 db

Line Attenuation: 12.9 6.2 db

Data Rate: 2048 509 kbps

how does this look? bad? download speed with MU depends on IP. Sometimes only 20kbps...sometimes 190kbps. Could the SNR margin caused it?

Added on April 29, 2010, 4:46 amI've tried replacing the micro filter/wires of the phone and my wireless router. it does improved however i'm concerned whether it wil revert to the previous shitty state within 10~20 minutes afterwards rclxub.gif

called TM on 3rd APR and today 'the mat rempit' contractor came and check my telephone line (confirms what i thought )and recommends me to get a new phone line for long term use or get a new better quality micro-filter which i did from ACE hardware. Well hope the speed will be stable afterward because i hate relying TM on their tech support and rather be pro active solving my issue.

This has probably been asked a thousand times, but how do I check my SNR margin? There doesn't seem to be anything on it on my status page (I'm using a Linksys WAG120N modem-router). There's figures for downstream and upstream but that's it.

Mine looks like this.

Downstream rate - 3384Kb
Upstream rate - 507Kb

DS margin - 4
US margin - 19

DS Output Power - 118
US Output Power - 187

DS Attenuation - 47
US Attenuation - 27

everything here changes when I restart my modem router.

Is this good??
