only a pathethic graphic whore will complain about framerate. if it's as bad as skyrim then you have every reason to complain, but it's not that bad.

i am still buying it for ps3 because i don't wanna play it on a pc with a boring mouse & keyboard. tongue.gif

as for day 1 dlc, nobody is forcing you to buy it. only cheap pirates complain about dlc. rolleyes.gif

Additional squad mate with extra mission, weapons and outfit. People are piss of because it's a Prothean and they are all assuming that Bioware purposely cut out that content to sell off as DLC even though there's no proof to that.

If you buy the CE you'll get this DLC for free, if SE have to buy the DLC for USD10

Yup my thoughts exactly, but some gamers just like to blow things out of proportion.

but seriously, the prothean dlc size is 628MB & that proves it's not on the disc. so anyone who feels cheated by it are just being stupid or they are cheap pirates. rolleyes.gif

actually, if it's other way around then ppl wont be as angry.

the whole story of mass effect revolves around the protheans and their technology, and how they were made slaves to the reapers. if this dlc contains background story on how the protheans came to be, or how they became enslaved, then i would consider this to be an integral part of the story. furthermore, if you've played from ME1, wouldnt you be DYING to know this backstory, and how would u feel if EA purposely did not include this, and made you have to pay for it?

it's like EA selling you a story book for full price, then asking you to buy the prologue separately. i think it's abit too much also lo. it's not about the price, it's about EA milking you for your money for something that's integral to the story.

Is a business model. Every other game company is doing this way, why not we ride the bandwagon as well?

I am not surprise if EA is doing this, as well as selling extra character as dlc......just like square enix huh, nwk?

The funny thing about DLC is that it's optional. NOBODY IS POINTING A GUN TO YOUR HEAD FORCING YOU TO BUY IT.

As for the ridiculous outrage regarding the Prothean DLC, this is what BioWare associate producer Michael Gamble, had to say in the Bioware forums:

QUOTE
As most of you know, yesterday there was a leak that revealed the upcoming DLC “ME3:From Ashes” on the
Xbox LIVE Marketplace. This leak took place before we were prepared to make an announcement about the details of that pack (slated for this Friday).

There has been a lot of discussion about the DLC offering but we wanted to clarify a few things...

- “From Ashes” includes the Prothean squad mate, an adventure on Eden Prime, a new weapon, and an alternate
appearance for every squad mate. Note that these alternate appearances are in addition to the ones already advertised in the CE.

- The Collectors Edition has been advertised from the beginning as containing a bonus character/mission, but we were not at liberty to provide the details. The Prothean is optional content that is certainly designed to appeal to long-time fans, which is why he is part of the CE offering (the version many fans would be likely to purchase).  Mass Effect 3 is a complete – and a huge game - right out of the box.

- The content in “From Ashes” was developed by a separate team (after the core game was finished) and not completed until well after the main game went into certification.

- The Collectors Edition has been sold out in most places for some time now, and is becoming very hard to find (many players prefer not to purchase the digital version). As such, we wanted to make this content available so that SE buyers could also incorporate the Prothean into their game.

We’ll be releasing someimages and video about this pack in the coming days.

As always, we are extremely thankful for all of your support. We pulled out all of the stops to make Mass Effect 3 the best game ever, and we can't wait for you all to experience it.

Mike

Being a Prothean doesn't automatically makes it integral to the story, they are an extinct race and appearing after 50,000 years, I doubt they can be of much use. I'll reserve my judgement till after I play the game, no use jumping to conclusion.

sentence highlighted in bold clearly implies milking.

like i said, if this was a dlc for alternate costumes, weapons, etc, nobody will make a big fuss.

anyone who says protheans arent important in the ME universe must not have been paying attention while playing the first 2 games. it's like saying female krogans are meh.

A 50,000 year old Prothean, telling you about what happen 50,000 years ago, still fail to see how important is it. Of course it depends on how they write it, maybe there's secret cache of Prothean hidden somewhere, but bear in mind those gonna be 50,000 years old Prothean that have not evolve for 50,000 years, just my view though, after all Bioware did not release anymore info other than its a Prothean.

To quote ME wikia, "It is believed the Protheans created the Citadel and the mass relays,", there was not any proof that it was actually them that create it.

If they put a Batarian, I would say the Batarian is even more important than a Prothean, since anyone who played Arrival will know that you'll probably be at war with the Batarian. Having a Batarian on your side would helps a lot in negotiation.

what if it had clues on why the reapers acted the way they did? or why suddenly an advanced race which created the mass relays could suddenly succumb to the reapers?

if you were a ME fan, you would die to know these. and it would suck to have to pay extra for it.

basically, any dlc that expands upon the story would suck if you had to pay for it. i mean, you paid for a full priced game hoping to get every bit of story right?

While DLC is pain in the rear to buy and all that. I see as the future moving since for one, they can produce content for a game that we completed months ago, so we can turn the game on to play the DLC for old time sake or something.

But the main reason for DLC is the moving forward is for game companies, yes they make more money out of it, but it also speeds up production of the main game, since anything extra content they can develop later as a DLC. So it's kind of a balancing factor there. Not everybody can keep a game being developed and annouced years ahead.. cough *blizzard* cough..

You said it yourself, "IF", if it is I'll suck it up and buy it while cursing Bioware. As of now I don't know what it is, could be another Zaeed or Kasumi, so there's really nothing for me to be angry about without more information about it.

Expanding story is fine for me, it just give you more detail but doesn't affect main story in anyway, just like Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC, it's something that is nice to know but in no way will make the game worst without it.

Now if they say without the DLC you can't get a good ending then I'll be piss.
