I think the specs are known already. 1.8L, 2.0L, and hybrid variants are all at honda centres. U can get in them and check out on everything. Except for driving dynamic.
It is the pricing not confirm yet |

price High spec 2.0 is RM139k, price for 2.0 low spec is RM5k less.
Price for 1.8 (only 1spec) RM119k. From what my agent told me. Will test drive tomorrow. Decide got for high spec RM5k included keyless entry, push button, leather seat, xenon light, navigation. This is their marketing strategy same they do for city. QUOTE(zweimmk @ Jul 10 2012, 11:34 PM) With the way Japanese Marques are pricing their cars these days, why are you even surprised? Toyota did it with their Camry. Honda lost the plot with both the Freed and Jazz. They keep this rubbish up and more people will go Korean or Conti. The market ain't like it was back in 2004, 2006 or 2008. People actually have more compelling choices these days. Well said. The Japs are beginning to fall behind in terms of equipment and specs but yet they still choose to price their cars ridiculously high. I guess they will continue to do that as long as demand is there. Imagine paying RM 139K for a C segment 2.0L which got such poor ratings in the US until the Honda CEO had to come out and do damage control. http://wot.motortrend.com/honda-admits-civ...013-140651.html http://wot.motortrend.com/we-hear-honda-pu...vic-130717.html http://hondacivicblog.com/archives/ceo-ito...012-honda-civic This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Jul 11 2012, 01:45 PM |

I went to the Honda showroom earlier and the salesman actually showed me the new Civics behind their service center.
I have to say, I actually like how the 9th gen look on the exterior, it appeals to me much more than the 8th gen does. The interior looks relatively basic for 1.8L but everything that needs to be there, seems to be there. It still uses key turn ignition and there's no cruise control. Steering wheel looks ergonomic and pleasing to the eyes. The 1.8Navi version has all the bells and whistles but at the end of the day, is it worth paying so much more? It boils down to how much you like the look of the new Civic to want to pay for it vs the better spec Koreans. As a personal opinion, I definitely think it looks better than the Elantra and the Forte but would I want to pay the premium for it? That's a different story.... |

QUOTE(kcng @ Jul 11 2012, 02:52 PM) dude, the civic drives much better than K5.... How many of those who bought the Civic actually did so because it drives better? Are u sure it was 'drivability' that made the 8th gen Civic a success in Malaysia? I doubt so. Malaysians in general dont know what 'drivability' is in the first place. Im not much better myself. remember, there is people who buy the car for how it drives... not because they are sold on the features list... Im not much better myself. 7th gen civic.. the ES is literally a failure...so for the 8th gen, honda took a radical step and it paid dividends... 2006, when the 8th gen civic is launch.. at this price bracket, there is not much choice... altis? bleh... camry? bleh... civic trumps this segment... futuristic interior design... fluid body line... generously spacious on the inside and also the trunk space... comprehensive spec list at that time... drives well and if not the best in the segment.. (for those boy "racers" in you) those are the selling points... |

Added on July 11, 2012, 3:24 pm what about the hybrid? does it come with navi? opting a suitable car for my girl. At the back of the showroom, I've seen: 1.8L 2.0L 2.0L+navi The hybrid sits between the 1.8 and 2.0L range. |
