Hybrid's price in between 1.8 and 2? Is that even compliant to Hybrid Tax free policy by the G? I suppose Hybrid must be cheaper than 1.8. =)
I got a call from SA - mentioning that the estimated price for Hybrid is ~ 122k... Wow. |

hybrid got all the gizmos available on the 2.0L. keyless entry, push button, leather seats, the lot. but at 122k it is expensive considering the last hybrid civic was only ... ? forgot how much but certainly NOT over 1.8L.
regarding the price, what we have now only estimations but as the clock ticking down to tomorrow i must say estimations are coming to be true after all. they may miss by only 1k or 2k and that even asking very hard. at best maybe miss some hundreds. i want to believe the 2.0L should be 130k tops but it seems not possible anymore at 139k for the 2.0L navi is simply unbelievable considering u top up another 4-5k u ended up with a D segment rival vehicle. more space and greater presence. i sat at the back and i never been in a civic backseat before and i am struggling to understand honda said they made the interior bigger despite the shortened wheelbase and width. subject to divine intervention on the price issue, i cannot see this to overtake FD sales although yes it will sell. |

Thats the importance of consumer power. Do not buy something which we know is clearly a rip off. Same with that Camry at that price.

so how to evaluate the parameters that qualify as a 'rip-off' ? how can we judge something that is a 'rip-off'?
for example 139k for a new C segment car with everything i.e good safety measures, satnav, good rims, good looking (subject to subjectivity nonetheless), climate control, good brand, good aftersales service, the lot. how we are going to quantify anything on the car that qualify it as a rip off? its price at 139k? comparison between the outgoing price and the outgoing model specification? and at 122k, the hybrid got a new 1.5l engine, new set of more reliable long lasting battery, all the gizmos i.e start stop keyless, leather, the lot. compare to the last model it is about ... 14k more? so how can we know the addition to the new model is WORTH 14k ? i dont know. i hope some does. all i was rambling about the price is because i have financial limit for buying a new car. QUOTE(mokhzaini @ Jul 11 2012, 09:15 PM) so how to evaluate the parameters that qualify as a 'rip-off' ? how can we judge something that is a 'rip-off'? U and alot of ppl are rambling about the price which i agree. If its priced too high while u get something less, doesnt that qualify as a 'rip off'? If ure paying a higher price for something when you can get something better for an equal price or slightly more, doesnt that qualify too? Just how much of a rip off it is, is left to be seen. for example 139k for a new C segment car with everything i.e good safety measures, satnav, good rims, good looking (subject to subjectivity nonetheless), climate control, good brand, good aftersales service, the lot. how we are going to quantify anything on the car that qualify it as a rip off? its price at 139k? comparison between the outgoing price and the outgoing model specification? and at 122k, the hybrid got a new 1.5l engine, new set of more reliable long lasting battery, all the gizmos i.e start stop keyless, leather, the lot. compare to the last model it is about ... 14k more? so how can we know the addition to the new model is WORTH 14k ? i dont know. i hope some does. all i was rambling about the price is because i have financial limit for buying a new car. But even if the high spec Civic 2.0L is priced at RM145K, there will be many who will buy not because they know anything about the specs but merely because its a new gen Civic and it holds a status symbol to a certain extent. So to these ppl, value for money is out the door. Well, thats their choice. I have made mine. |

not that bad afterall.
http://www.cbt.com.my/2012/07/10/honda-civ...ng-compact-car/ QUOTE The Civics interior was widely panned, especially by bloggers and the American media, but as the numbers show, the whole issue about interior plastics is not as important as American motoring journalists and trigger happy bloggers making rash conclusions with no experience in the car make it out to be.
