Anybody knows of any other PhD sponsorship/scholarship other than MARA and Mybrain when doing PhD in Malaysia?

I called and the staff told me that my academic result CGPA is not meet their requirement which is at least 3.0

The question is when I applied for it before May 2015, I remembered I saw the requirements stated in their website is CGPA 2.75

How could they change the rules without notice and make applicants failed to get the money? Anyone has same experience as me?

It's not fair to me and others as well whom applied at 2015, I thought they will approve mine but somehow they tighten the rules recently.

Is there anyway to make appeal or complaint? I remembered news told that we can ask someone Menteri Pendidikan to help us but I can't recall his name.

Hi everyone!

I graduated with a degree last year, and I worked for a year before deciding to pursue my phd this year. Currently, I'm thinking to apply for MyPhd, which cover my tuition fees and would give a monthly allowance of rm2300 for 3 years.  smile.gif

The thing is, I attended a talk on this MyBrain thingy where the speaker said that those who have worked before might not get the monthly allowance, especially after the government checks your KWSP account and finds out that you have been getting epf (working).

So my question is, is there anyone here who got the MyPhD and at the same time worked before he/she applied for this? I have stopped working of course, but am wondering if this would affect my chances of getting the scholarship.  sad.gif Is it better to declare that I have worked before or should I claim that I have never worked before? (In Borang pengesahan status bagi kategori graduan belum/tidak berpendapatan tetap program biasiswa myphd)

Also, a second question:

Has anyone ever accepted a Fellowship by their university, and a few months later, get offered MyPhD as well? Would the fact that one who has been offered the Felowship have a lower chance or rejected for MyPhd?  sweat.gif  I know that if one receives both at the same time and has not accepted either one, then this is no prob - just choose which one you prefer.

But what IF I had already accepted the Fellowship, would Mohe be able to find out I have accepted the fellowship offer?
-Once they find out, will they still offer us MyPhd and allow us to choose?
-Or will they immediately reject us?

Many thanks to anyone who has any knowledge of the above and would be willing to share their opinion on this matter! Cheers.  thumbup.gif

Hi all, URGENT question here:

Does anyone has same problem as me? Applied myMaster before May 2015 and meet the requirements at that time, but disqualified in 2016 because they have raised the CGPA requirements which is at least 3.0, anyone? I am thinking to make appeal or complaint against them regarding this matter,

TOTALLY UNFAIR TO APPLICANTS 2015!!!

An honest reply @adam_lew85
There are many ways to finance your education and need not rely on government's money to do so. (e.g EPF, bank loan, etc) Anyone who is giving out money will have the right to revise their terms and conditions for eligibility, the government's included. Given the current tough times, it is only wise if those limited funds are given out prudently and only to those who deserves it.

Not wanting to attack you but looking at what you wrote ... your english writing competency is of concern. They have structural and grammatical errors which should not be demonstrated by a graduate. What if I am the person who is supposed to approve your MyBrain application, I would without a doubt disqualify you because you did not demonstrate good qualities as a degree holder. Why should I invest further in your Master's degree?

You need to face the realities that life isn't fair. Help yourself before asking for others to help you. Ranting here will only go nowhere.

Thanks for the reply, of course I knew that there are other financial options available for me, I even withdrew my hard earned money from EPF account 2 for this purpose.

There is one thing I would like to let u know is no one will care about your English grammar mistake especially here in lowyat forum, I am not replied to government officers, I am just replied here and seeking advice or help from you.

What makes you think that you qualified to judge my English? What makes you feel so confident that your English is far better than mine? I am so so so curious about it...(again, formal English written skill is not important here, no one cares about it, except you, maybe.)

Please bear in mind that anyone who took MBA must have been went through all those English test and it is a must to get a good result before you were qualified to enrol to their MBA.

I am just letting you know what will happen if you take the MBA because I doubt that you didn't take it yet, do you? Please, do not be so arrogant when in posting in forum although no one knows who you are, do not underestimate or look down anyone beside you. This is just my little advice to you.

Peace.

I think u better make a trip to putrajaya HQ. so u can directly ask them. trust me, call and email will not get single response.
I personally went there twice just to submit my application. First round missed out some document verification. The 2nd round almost cant make it due to lunch time. But lucky enough one Malay lady still accepted my application.

Well said.. By looking at his comments, his competency of English is really of concern, particularly on the tenses..

Sorry for being a "busybody"
You gave him your honest advice but he treated offensively... @ @
No wonder the quality of MBA graduates produced by local universities is deteriorating.

Usually top MBA schools require GMAT or GRE to screen out candidates..

My application was approved two days ago. Applied since April this year. However, another two friends of mine got theirs rejected. Anyone one else applied and got it? Thanks.

Well ... I agree top MBA schools would screen their potential students throughly.
Graduates from those schools would need to reflect and carry the brand name once they graduate. Anything lesser then the potential student would be rejected outright.

I'm actually amused when the writer spoke about my lack of knowledge on MBA programs. One side of the coin is the perceived public's attention to the MBA brand that you are holding but equally important (or sometimes more) is the transformation that has been effected to the graduate who holds (or undergoing) MBA.

Well ... I wish you all the best as you believe you fully understood what you are doing. (and hopefully it's future implications)
