vervain, what you say is right and I agree with you (coming from the same thought process as you have right now)

sometimes there's that lingering itch that makes u want to change into something sportier, when you drive, you feel good, you feel great. it doesn't have to be a beemer or a merc (i can afford it) but something value for money, and does not worry the pocket.

i've done so many things to my car to change the feel to embrace the drive. audio stuff, handling stuff via racing bars and planning to change tyre profiles on stock rims.

i have a civic fd2 at home already. my mum drives it. don't want the same car in the garage LOL

i have not joined teamcity but i am in some "limited" contact with soem of the members there. the forum/club is dying with all the oldies leaving the club with new cars. oh well.

Spirited driving, good handling.

I you don't mind old car, Mazda MX5, first or second gen
some already fit in with turbo, have high power to weight ratio.

Another is S2000, slightly over your budget, but stock car is already good enough.

Just get those old hatch Civic with B18C. Or DC5R. RX8 can be one but taking care of it is another thing. Or Neo CPS R3, modded Neo.

Basically any manual car with hi rev-ing engine and around 120hp~200hp is good enough. Make sure they are felt planted well on to the ground and come with a good exhaust sound.

Spirited driving is not all about torque. If that were so, get a lorry.

Toyota Caldina GT4 N-Spec.. brows.gif Only Auto, but Turbo + 4WD + LSD nice to go Genting or Cameron Highlands..

Buy this 1, sure got good resale value.. now around RM90~100k for 2nd hand..

Or Toyota Celica 1.8 VVTL-i around RM60~80k.. Choose Manual 6-speed for spirited driving...

seriously forte not for spirited driving but a good commuter..n from honda city to forte is like downgrading..just like if u buy proton..n since u mention fd is already in ur home..the last option for a branded japanese is altis..lancer is like inspira but honestly lancer is much better handling in stock compare to inspira..looks good too but inspira spoilt the party!

308t is just nice..power is good..good tech..sharing the same engine wit mini's..people bad mouth about this car none other than becos of NAZA..period..

Those old impreza n evos are serious car..within ur budget an its practical too..

there's a 30k to 40k gap biggrin.gif

like i can tell you VW Golf Tsi is way better than 308THP from reliability to brand image, but there is also a 30k to 40k gap biggrin.gif

or like golf to scirrocco.

TS Need to fix a budget and maintenance fee first.

evos and Sti are great, but maintenance.....i think need Ron97 too.

there is no 30k-40k gap actually if buying a second hand lancer..but the difference says "is really 30k in the pocket" n a set of good abs to match tat handling is far more cheaper than the difference..

Those evos n imprezas can run wit 95..proven..n too pump 97 all the time to this machine also not a problem for the owner..people who cant afford the car thinks differently..
