But it would be a very nice driver's car indeed. RWD with 200++ HP is pretty exhilirating. Only thing would be the petrol. RON97, RM100 would be gone in 250~km

not really an option. I'd like SOME power at command but a car that would make driving an option. spacey, private, quiet, solid.

really skewed towards 308t tho sad.gif

There's another option if u dun mind, Focus TDCI,priced below 130k...135hp and whopping 340NM of torque and also has the powershift gearbox
Test drive it and u'll know how well it handles

308thp problem will be on maintenance. if choose between focus and 308thp, I will choose focus. Because theres more power, handles better and it's fuel efficient. 308thp shines with lots of gizmo. but at the end of the day, the small cabin and reliability is something you should consider. Too many electronics.

Why not consider pimping up your existing car? Upgrading the city is much better since you don't need to tie up with loan commitments. end of the day you can still sell the car at a much better price than 308 & forte.

Just my humble opinion.

vervain, that's exactly what i thought before. but pimp up a car? that doesn't change much.

body kits?
sound systems?
lower ride with different rims? those aren't fun stuff to do. i want a whole new look. something that i purchase out of the sheer joy of driving.

i've read great reviews about the ford focus but it's kinda ugly (at the back!)

i don't feel luxurious at all. sad.gif

spirited driving doesnt mean extra huge power...even reviewer sed suzuki swift sport(m) can give u a smile for a spirited driving. for a tight budget..i'd go for 308 turbo...or maybe used polo gti(old one).

Then you need to pour in cash thats for sure. Luxurious? like how? different car segment? if yes you have to get those beemer. There is no one car that can dominate all criteria. if there is, the manufacturer just manufacture this one car to profit from the market.

I'm not sure on your expectation, but for 1.5na commercial engine, the City is putting a respectful amount of power. For a NA, you can't expect much unless you play with high-cams or force induction. those would easily set you <10k and sends chills down your spin everytime you sit on your car. When you're getting all accustom to the car of you've reached the limit, then you will only move to the next phase.

rims is one way of getting a good upgrade. good lightweight and good looking rims can actually improve your cars performance slightly. coupled with some good suspension to improve the handling, you will get a nice car.

Honestly when you say you need a whole new look, I can't think of any sub 100k new cars. Moreover fiesta is off the list. I think it's better that you stick with your current ride till you have enough budget to get a 200k ++ car. definitely it can fill up most of your demands. in the meantime just invest in property and gain the $$.

+1.

For 100K i would only think the Fiesta is suited for slight spirited driving but honestly since u going to spend money for property investment, spend on that first. Once property secured and if u moved in, then consider a car. I think the golf GTI suits u more but u may need RM200K for that.

Consider to buy Lancer GT 2nd hand or new Inspira.
Mitsubishi Tagline "Fantastic Sports Machine" and Inspira name itself show it is for spirited driving.

2 reasons to buy are:

1. to look good driving it
2. to have a spirited driving (U drive long distances occasionally on highways and U like the feel of enjoying the car and some of its power) or sometimes at night alone.

YUP, spirited driving is wat a lancer or inspira is...get the manual and i guarantee u will know wat spirited means, for a 180cm tall guy like u, it fits u nicely with it's huge cabin, looks well, basically you're spoilt with choices from the after market.

honda to proton as a downgrade ? please humor me in wat sense ? the brand ? or the car ?

city is a B-segment where else the lancer/inspira is a C-segment...i call that upgrading

city is a 1.5 engine and lancer/inspira is a 1.8/2.0 engine ...i CALL THAT UPGRADING

honda - proton...u call that downgrading....well it maybe...but do not for a second forget besides it's badge EVERYTHING else is a MITSUBISHI...

and u ask for spirited driving and looks...with a budget below 100k - i will tell u INSPIRA is wat u looking for

but if u TELL ME U WANT BRAND ...then by all means indulge yourself in a BMW and nothing less...why u ask ?

because you're upgrading from a JAPANESE to a CONTI...what else is there...BEEMER wor...anytime better then peugeot too......

OH yea, japanese pawns CONTI on handling everytime ( take note that HANDLING and COMFORT RIDE is two different things., so conti will pawn japanese in comfort evertime too...)

just my 2cents
