So Sharp, amazing...when n where you bought the lens? What will be the pricing?
*
The NEX twin lens plus 2 marumi filter, plus sony 16gb, plus extra battery rm3010 and e to a mount adaptor rm 550, just bough 1 month ago.
Sal50f18 bought 2 years ago for my alpha, rm 500 I thinks. Prime lens usually sharp but I have to do manual focus because the lens SAM focus very slow. Good combination for product shooting under low light....

it is SAL lens... guess you are on a LA-EA2 adapter... correct me if i'm wrong...
nice pic  brows.gif

La-ea 1 haha...version 2 is too expensive, I can get a better lens. But la-ea 2 is superb in focusing, very very fast with 100 % success rate. for la-ea1 , it will be like zeee......zaaaaaa......zeee.....zaaa....extreme hard to focus with 90% fail on 50mm. slightly better with Sal 18-55 , usually I usemanual focus.

May I ask what advantage does this give?? hmm.gif

Cause NEX already has a tripod mount at the bottom and even cheap tripods can allow the camera to switch between a horizontal and vertical orientation by just a push of a lever.

Did you notice you enjoy shooting in Landscape mode more than in Portrait mode when using your tripod? Do you notice when you shoot in portrait mode you ended up need to do a lot of adjustment to your ballhead and sometimes even the leg? And then your knob position is changed and you find it hard to align your shot properly? L plate is something after you use it, you always want one (so it is poison, be warned!).

Hi all,

Just stepped into NEX world with a NEX-C3. Wow, I love the panorama function.

A question - is anyone here using Canon EF/EFS lens with their NEX? using the EOS-E mount adapter? I have a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 and was thinking to try it with my NEX... but just wonder if the image quality can be close to the Sony SEL50F18?

Anyone tried? Thanks!

I never been on this lens previously so can't comment... but SEL50F18 so far is the best lens reviewed by many in e-mount series right after the Zeiss lens...

1 thing for sure is you will lost autofocus in using non e-mount lens... maybe u should snap a few n share with us? nod.gif

Think manual focus is not a problem at all with the wonderful peaking feature. I'll find the adapter and try it out smile.gif thanks

Dust will always get into sensor, you just need to just the blower to blow it occasionally.

The reason why dust is so visible in this shot it with f13 which has a massive depth of field equivalent to 20 in full frame.

For NEX system, you get the peak sharpness at f5.6 and try not to go over f5.6 unless you are trying to do starburst. So if you shoot the above pic with f5.6, not only the dust is not visible, but your picture will be a lot sharper.

No where EF 50 1.8 come close to SEL 50 F18.
and I'm not sure using adapter can close the aperture of EF lens.
As EF lenses designed not like the way you see Nikon F mount lenses.

your statement means SEL is better than EF in 50F18?
