The rafting sound is due to the linear auto focus mechanism in the lens.
Only happens when the camera is switched of or the lens is detached from the body.
I'm using the 19mm on my NEX7 and very pleased with the optical quality.

using nex-3
and I used a +4 close up filter. Because need to get even closer.
However there are some quality drop in terms of sharpness lah since the filter is cheap one.

Mine also got the sound when you shake it
But it is fine i guess.

It is completely normal bro... it's design like that...
As long as the image quality is good, at that price, I'm not complaining

Any idea for sigma 30mm pricing like?

huh, weird... i checked my notes and it was RM869 before... cause I listed down all the NEX lens along with prices from malaysia and also amazon as reference....
probably my mistake, sorry about this...
