The 2 lenses are already E-mount lens, so no adaptor required,BUT the Samyang is manual focus only...

Check your user manual on the sensor cleaning mode and get yourself a dust blower....Point the camera downward after the cleaning mode, unscrew the lens, point the blower upward towards your sensor (but not touching it) and start squeezing Added on July 10, 2012, 12:18 pm QUOTE(deen8081 @ Jul 10 2012, 12:10 PM) Bought the Sigma 19mm for S$240 and Samyang for S$329.You can also check the price in local website like Shashinki This post has been edited by widget: Jul 10 2012, 12:21 PM |

Other than DIY, can send to Sony SC e.g. The Curve. For units under warranty, they provide free body, sensor, lens cleaning. |

hi all, i'm a new DSLR user and initially thought of getting the NEX 5N or F3. however, before jumping in, I'm giving a 550d a test.
I was hoping to get some comments and help from NEX 5N/F3 owners here, if you have used the 550D with 50mm 1/8 before, can the 5N/F3 with 18-55 or SEL16 lens come close to image quality/bokeh of the 550D/50mm1.8? Hope someone here who used 500d and now using NEX 5N can share and advise... Thank you so much! |

Hope someone here who used 500d and now using NEX 5N can share and advise... Thank you so much! and EF 50mm f/1.8 II optically is not that good, it is an old lens. and the awfully pentagon shape can be seen once you stop down. while the sony one still remains rounded. Used dslr and migrated to nex system. I didn't regret anything. apart from it is not full frame BTW, if you compare 55mm @ f/5.6 and 50mm @ f/1.8 sure you know which one gives more bokeh right ? then disregard the above comment. But sony 50mm 1.8 OSS is still better This post has been edited by 168257061: Jul 10 2012, 06:59 PM |

Thanks for the inputs. Well the canon 50mm 1.8 costs a fraction of the sony 50mm so can't complain so much
But what's important is you feel nex 5n can give you equally good photos in terms of bokeh, depth of field, sharpness? That's very good to hear... |

That's very good to hear... bokeh is lens dependable dof, provided with the same lens with dslr, it is the same as dslr. sharpness also lens dependable but so far I have no complaint on sony lenses. besides 16mm pancake. well for pancake lens (cheap) can't expect too much. thats why i replace it with sigma 19mm. not that wide but IQ wise is absolutely good. |

QUOTE(destfull @ Jul 11 2012, 12:50 AM) i would say all lens capable in doing bokeh... but it is easier and the effect is better if you with a lens with a wider aperture...let's shooting a same object attached with backgroundnear to that object... you will see the different when you shoot in typical zoom lens and prime lens... QUOTE(samsungfreak @ Jul 9 2012, 08:12 PM) I have a Nex 5N and 18-55. Until today I still think is the the best "value for money" mirrorless combo, it is giving ur APS-C image quality on such a small form factor. On my last trip I ask my mum to take it for his shoot. You know old people are noob on camera and they don't even understand how to half press to pre focus or things like focus and recompose. So everything have to be auto. The pictures come back all sharp without misfocus (as long as the subject is not at the corner/border when the background will be in focus). Old people also like to print and the prints are just amazing and have all the SLR look. [I am referring to image quality, nor artistic value, lol] thanks samsungfreak for the opinion, so in mind now i think i will keep the 18-55 and sell 16mm for 50mm, or just buy 50mm and keep both 1855 and 16//, coz i think i still need wide angle lens for landscape photoWhen you use 18-55 at 18mm, you can use f3.5. If you buy 19mm, you can use f2.8. The difference is only 2/3 step, other than smaller size, there is really not much benefit. If you buy the 30mm, it is effectively a 45mm view on Full Frame camera. That is quite an interesting view. And if you shoot 30mm with 18-55 you probably are now at f4 something which means now this lens can really give you more than 1 stop advantage in both low light and bokeh (background blur). So this look more interesting. But for me, it is still not interesting enough. The 50mm is very interesting. It can shoot wide open and still get very sharp results [but not on Nex 7 which the megapixels outresolved the lens capability]. The 1.8 will give very good bokeh when needed and quite a good low light performer compare to the sigmas. It will be a good match for 18-55 because the 50 of 18-55 will need to be shot at near f5.6, you can getting 3 stop advantage! Also while not related, the silver lens look more cool then the black sigmas. Please don't sell the 18-55, you can't get much for selling it and it is really value for the money. |
