Not many posting here already as the replies are usually quite redundant sometimes (replied over and over again, please check the past replies). Plus, less active nowadays sad.gif

2nd post updated with several more models. Suggestions are welcomed to be added in that post. Please do check it out.

Not exactly sure of the models around RM1k but please do check whether the LX3/LX5/Canon S100/Olympus XZ-1 are around the price range as they're a bit old already..

These are more enthusiast cameras as they feature better manual controls and better image quality than the other generic cameras on the market.

Might just be able to squeeze in a Canon 550D. Not too sure about the price nowadays, please do share it here as well.

guys I'm planning to get a D7000 got shop nearby my workplace called Camera Valley their price is RM3590 for the 18-105 kit, new shop la so I check out their website apparently they used to be known as NEWSPEED STORE.

So i google their name to see if their valid and I came up with 1 thread say that they sell refurbished camera's as new. So I don't know if I should get from them, that thread though is like in 2007 very old.

Another thread say one guy lens for RM1080 den the NEWSPEED guy say that it is old price need add RM300 eventhough the buyer already pay through lelong.

Should I trust? Or anyone can follow me check it out? Its at Kota Damansara , Sunway Giza. www.cameravalley.com.my

Camera : Compact zoom type
Budget: best value for money
location : kuching
preferable brand : any
type of photography : General all purpose shooting, need to have a super-zoom capability. for shooting fruits / trees in the wildlife. shooting dogs.
any specific model : WB 750, TZ-25

This is a camera for my mum who is in her fifties. She is always going to our family orchard and she always says she wants to shoot pictures of her fruits.

She's getting more elderly so i wouldn't want something that is hard to use, or touch screen thats why im avoiding TZ-30. But it doesn't necessarily have to have super duper zooms. Just good quality and zooms on a compact. Thanks ! and i love my mum. =)

I quite like the Canon SX1x0 line of cameras. It is suitable for beginners but if you want you can set pretty much everything. Good value for money.

Hi All,

I have a dilemma of not knowing which camera to choose.

Type of camera/lens/accesories :Any (brand new)
Budget:2k - 3.5k
Your Location: KL
Preferable brand : Canon/ Nikon/ Olympus or SOny
Type of photography u want to do : Snap at macro range to long range
Any specific models in mind? : Olympus EPL - 5/ Sony Next 5R/ Nikon 5200 or Canon 650D or Panasonic lumix lx7 or canon S110.
Any specific features u want? : Reliable/ Easy to use/ Can get lens from macro to min 150mm.

The best offer i got for twin lens for

EPL - 5 - 55mm / 150mm for RM2990
Next 5R - 50mm/ 210mm for RM3499.

Was planning to look at Nikon 5200 but its not out yet in malaysia. canon 650D seem tempting as well.

For compact. looking at lx 7 and S110. Seem small and easy to carry around.

Any recommendation ?
