After comparing these 2 models,
Canon IXUS 125 HS
&
Sony DSC-WX100/B

which is better for my requirement (as stated above) recommended for me ?
Thanks.

erm, looking on the spec requirement of yours, mainly you need shoot architecture, means need wide angel... Canon got 24mm, Sony got 25mm
seems more or less comparable.
then if shoot dark interior need high ISO (or bright lens), Canon give ISO 100-3200, F2.7 at wide end while sony give up to 12800, but only F3.3 at wide end.
Canon has a brighter lens here, but Sony compensate it's slower lens with big ISO range. not sure the high ISO picture is acceptable or not, if Yes, then you can consider it.
Flash, both camera got.
if you need shoot far object, Sony better cos can reach up to 250mm (canon only 120mm). not sure you require this or not.
Panorama... for sure Sony wins with build in panorama sweep function.

so after the breakdown, what is suitable for you? go try out the camera at the shop in order to know the exact quality of the picture.

Type of camera/lens/accesories :  Point and Shoot cameras ONLY
Budget: Less than RM999
Your Location:   KL / Selangor
Preferable brand :  Canon / Sony / Nikon / Olympus
Type of photography u want to do : Building during Construction, Architectural & Interior
Any specific models in mind? :  No
Any specific features u want? :
For All Staff sharing use in an Architect Firm:-
- Good Optical Image Stabilizer
- Wider Angle (if possible within my budget)
- Fixed Lens
- As Compact as possible
- Good capture in dark environment (Construction site sometimes quite dark because lighting is not install yet)
- Prefer NOT fully touch screen at LCD. (many old man cannot control properly)
- Using JPG format only.
- Mainly view in computer screen, maximum print size is 4R
- Durable in terms of handling times (u know, while at the Construction site sweat.gif )
- Built-in Panorama is a plus.
- Built-in Flash

DO NOT NEED:
- High Resolution
- GPS
- WiFi
- Pretty Body
- RAW format
- Fast
- Good Stamina
- Many Scenes to select
- 3D
- Videos
- Focus Mode
- Face Detection
- Red-eye Reduction
- any other fancy features.

Which camera Brand/Model recommended for me ?

Many Thanks ! biggrin.gif

My dua sen is:

Nikon P300/ P310 ... 1/2.3" BSI CMOS and bright f1.8 lens at wide angle is about as good as it gets there.

It's also got a backlighting mode which is useful in those unfinished building with glare coming from the outside and dark inside.

Do note that the best implementation of backlit modes are still Sony's but Cybershot have slow lens and are HOPELESS in indoor conditions. doh.gif

Also... forget about auto-panoramas. It does require some sort of familiarity/training to sweep at a constant rate and if your guys shoot indoor or in less than perfect lighting conditions... the panorama will end up cacat.

Do have a look at FujiFilm X10 also ... it's a little more expensive but IQ is better.

Hi,

Planning for a DSLR camera. Here is my details.

Type of camera/lens/accesories : DSLR or M43 with 50F1.8 and a telezoom lens.
Budget : Below 2.7k
Your Location : Subang
Preferable brand : Canon and Sony
Type of photography u want to do : Street, Macro, Landscape.
Any specific models in mind? : Split between Sony A57 and Canon 600D or Oly EPL-3 and Sony Nex
Any specific features u want? : Good low-light performance, bokeh shots, not so much of a portrait shooter. The only reason why I'm thinking about M43 is because of the portability benefit.

Budget below RM400. Point & shoot. Most probably will be used to take pictures at site for works. Also will be used for personal use - pictures with friends, activities, etc. Suggestion for the best camera?

Thx in advance smile.gif

Hey guys.

Need recommendation for a light system with a 'normal' 50mm view lens.
(Like the Pana 25mm f/1.4 / 20mm f/1.7 on a m4/3)

EVF/LCD doesn't matter as long as sunlight legibility is good.
Would appreciate if anyone list out possible combinations. laugh.gif

Budget?

Oly EM-5 + 20mm f1.7

It's not that thick.

or

Panny GX1 + 20mm f1.7

Always tempted by this combo though GX1 is not very popular in LYN
