What is the model for D7000 replacement? I can't find it. But from their usual cycle most likely at the end of this year or early next should have a replacement coming out.
The latest rumor and leaked photo shows that they have a motor. The only thing hard to belief is the price that is lower than the one they are suppose to replace, the Nikon D300. Unless the D600 is replacing the D7000. Who knows.

Ahhh do keep us updated on that smile.gif

Anyway, you can also ask around in the Nikon thread smile.gif

LX5 is better smile.gif

But optics wise, aperture range I'd say the Olympus camera is better smile.gif

Hey guys need ur advice on which lens to choose..
1. Nikon 35mm f1.8G
2. Nikon 50mm f1.8G
3. Tamron 17-50 f2.8 non vc

i'm seeking a cheap lens that can be used in events and also gr8 for taking portrait photos..
Also, i would like to have nice bokeh..
fyi, my camera body has no built in motor..

So which one is more suitable?
*
You should ask in the Nikon thread for better recommendations.

Anyway, just to answer your question: You'd probably have to decide yourself on whether to get a prime lens or a zoom lens.

Zoom lens- versatility
Prime lens- Image Quality, bigger aperture=shallower DOF

(generally speaking)

IS is Image Stabilization, a feature in the lens that helps you to take steadier shots at lower shutter speeds. Just bear in mind that it is NOT a substitute for a tripod.

Not exactly sure of the models around RM1k but please do check whether the LX3/LX5/Canon S100/Olympus XZ-1 are around the price range as they're a bit old already..

These are more enthusiast cameras as they feature better manual controls and better image quality than the other generic cameras on the market.

The NEX F3 is a great little camera and it's so cheap now. At RM1.7k or so you can already get one with a kit lens thumbup.gif

Well of course, it won't have the extra features of a full fledged DSLR like the Nikon D3200 maybe, but it sure is small and handy, great for people looking to take higher quality pictures without the expense of the weight and bulk factor to name a few smile.gif

I would lean more towards the Lumix LX7 for its brilliant f/1.4 lens and the Olympus XZ-2

The NEX F3 certainly has the edge because of the bigger sensor. I'd go with the F3 if I were you. Do consider getting an extra lens too smile.gif

Hi guys so its now down to the final choosing moment for me.

G12 vs NEX-F3 Day. Priority - image quality especially night view.

I know its unfair to compare as both fall in different category but price wise - the difference is just too small. Just compare the image quality assuming the standard kit lens that will come with NEX-F3.

In my heart it seem NEX-F3 will do much better. Last piece of advise for me maybe?
*
The G12 is no where near the quality of the NEX F3 based on sheer sensor size alone. Difference is like night and day. Plus, with the F3 you get the versatility of changing lenses and accessories thumbup.gif

In low light, performance might come close to even a full fledged DSLR.

So yeah, go for it man! thumbup.gif

RX100> S110 definitely. Bigger sensor, better image quality, better ISO performance rclxm9.gif

Size wise, also not that much bigger. Still pretty pocketable smile.gif

QUOTE(fool1988 @ Feb 14 2013, 05:26 PM)
In between Canon 60D and Canon 7D which is better? Which support highest ISO? I did love 7D more focus point than 60D, but some friend say take 60D better cause 7D is old.
*
7D is a level higher than the 60D lolz.

It goes like this, 1D series>5D series>7D> Double Digit Bodies(50D,60D,etc)>Triple digit bodies(600D,650D)>4 digit bodies (1000D,1100D) biggrin.gif

60D can go up to ISO 12800 [expanded mode] which I think should be the same as the 7D. Anyway, that's just the max ISO a camera can shoot at. Higher ISO rating doesn't mean better low light performance, but comparing both for high ISO performance, both exhibit very similar results... smile.gif

Hi Kytz, i understand the level hierarchy of canon dslr, 7D level is higher than 60D but how about the performance? Cause 7D and 60D release date is quite different and 60D might attach with new technology which useful than 7D. If high ISO performance and focus on low lighting, which is better?
*
I believe both might be also similar in terms of focus speed as both have all cross type AF points. But honestly speaking, better lenses with more superior focusing mechanisms like the USM in Canon lenses, would play a bigger role in getting a faster focus lock-on speed smile.gif

Besides the more AF points on the 7D, it also has a faster burst rate (8fps vs 5.3fps), bigger and better built body (magnesium alloy body vs plastic), 100% VF but doesn't have the luxury of a swivel screen in the 60D. The other minor differences are the creative filters, picture rating, basically stuff that don't mean much laugh.gif

Waahh you everything also not sure, how to recommend leh tongue.gif

Anyway, my simple question is whether you prefer a small camera or you don't mind something bigger and heavier maybe?

Something small like a Canon S110 or a Sony RX100 can easily slip into the pockets(jeans for example) without any need for an additional bag. Obviously, something a lot bigger like the prosumer cameras or DSLRs would require a bag to fit them in. Also adding in the possibility of additional lenses and accessories?

Bro -kytz-, need ur input.
i hv canon 30D and 40D with Tamron 17-50 non VC(suspect got fungus), 430EX and 580EXII.
If gv u RM3.5k, what will u do?

will u sell 30D and get 60D or 7D?
worth to get efs17-55 IS to replace tamron?

mostly shoot children photo, children school activities/ event and sometime wedding.
*
I'd go with a 2nd hand 60D, it costs below RM2.5k nowadays and it's awesome! Pretty much everything you might want. Good AF system (provided pair with a good lens), reasonable quick burst rate (5.3fps), good ISO performance (Digic 4), lovely swivel screen which can be very useful, etc biggrin.gif

That's just me la. I don't know how much improvement would there be over the 40D as the 40D is still a good, solid camera. You can always try the 60D at Canon concept stores biggrin.gif

And yes, I'd get something like a EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM to pair with the body. Very very nice lens, extremely quick focus lock and AI servo which is so crucial for moving subjects, couple that with a good burst rate and you are sure not to miss a shot tongue.gif And the lens should focus very well even under low light conditions....though I have yet to try one myself, but judging from reviews, it seems to be pretty excellent. After all, it's known to be Canon's hidden L lens...without the red ring of course! laugh.gif

And yeah, you have a 580EXII too so the setup is great already actually smile.gif
