Hi Sniper, is Canon SX260HS is upgrade of Canon SX230HS ? I'm new to camera too and been travelling a lot so decided to buy new cam for very newbie like me (easy to take photo at any situation especially during night time). GPS is the thing actually attracted me and if SX260HS is an upgrade for Canon SX230HS, i would get SX260HS instead. Would like to ask for you and other sifu bout this cam as it's new model, dont want regret later hehe. Cheers~

D7000 should be compared to canon 60D instead of 600D. Both are great camera. Check out what format your friend is using,so that you can pinjam lens
Both do well in potrait and landscape, Its the lens that is important instead of the body.
Among the 3 listed, i recommend nex5n. water proof is possible if you buy a external case
Nex5n rm 2550 (+/-rm100)

I saw that too. unfortunately, it's also out of my price range (can't afford anything more than RM1k)..... =(

I think the difference is extra zoom and what not. Frankly speaking, point and shoots are driven mainly by marketing and with a 1 year (or less) product lifecycle, there's really not much substantial difference.
I also bought a HX9V when it was price slashed for the replacement HX10V model.
