Regretted to change to tire size 205/45/16. It required much more effort to keep up with my previous fc of > 19km/L. Especially on short distance, the fuel dropped so obvious compare to the stock tire.

Honda insight come with small tire to maximize the FC with lower resistance. I think for those travel in city most of the time, stick to the stock tire size for better FC, and those travel lots on highway, try wider tire for better stability.

So hard to get best of both world. haha.

I think 205 is too wide. My opinion. 195/50r16 would be a better choice if wanna go wider. But I
Prefer to
Stick back with the factory size. Just get the better tire brand like mcheline xm2. Compare to the noise hard surface dunlop tire that came with it. There is a reason why they have a specific tire size for specific car. The had tuned the car for the right size of tires.

Just changed my air filter to K&N filter
was kinda surprised to see the original filter was so dirty just after 23k mileage
noticed a slight increase in terms of performance in acceleration & fc...
not sure if it was due the original one was too dirty...

no matter how, if have choice, definitely choose 2012 instead of 2011 for new buyer  sweat.gif

but if i am new buyer now, want to buy a hybrid, i will choose hybrid jazz for more worth the money.

It looks like chrome but it is not chrome, it is same as the front center bumper, so that the chrome wording can place on it.
I think maybe it's also nearly 50km, because last time I remember is something 47/48km while driving on highway. 31L should be RM58.90. So I think use up 32L should be RM60.80.

I have done some calculation, the 40+km seems for 3L petrol. So when reaching 0 in range, we still have 5L left. For my case this time, should be about 80km. Pls correct me if i'm wrong.
*
From my calculation last time, there should be more than 7 liters of petrol left in the tank after the range counter hit 0.

How much for the K&N air filter? At my recent 30km service, it changed the Element Assy, air cleaner which I suppose is the air filter. It cost RM105 and is scheduled for change every 30km.
Is it better to change K&N or keep to the stock air filter?

http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?id=2118
I think worth it in long run.

im jz curious as someone mention can change to 195 from 185 without changing the rim, all this while i tot evry size mus match v exact rim, nvr knw 195 n 185 can fit into the same rim.

if realy can then i'll definitely go for 195/55/16 aftr my current tyre worn out... for better traction hehehe

I guess my next service will require an air filter change.
Did you request SC to replace with K&N?

Dang..just renewed insurance for car & windscreen, added flood too, cost me RM2K+! Arghh.

Guys..is it me or what? ..I feel the Bridgestone tires getting harder as the car closing in to 20,000 KM
Interior vibrations getting worst rolling on those bad road.

ic....
yes it can change to 195 is all depending on the rim width. If i'm not mistaken insight rim 16" is 6.5J (meaning 6 1/2" wide).

can get 195/50 R16 and not 195/55R16.....u cant simply change the tire size....it will make the speed meter inaccurate and more fuel consumption..

from 185/55r16 to 195/55r16 So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 71.26
from 185/55r16 to 195/50r16 So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 69.03
from 185/55r16 to 205/50r16 So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at70.18

u can either use 195 or 205, but my advice is use 195, because insight rim is 6.5J or 6J wide like i mentioned above. If use 205 the wheel will look fat and too wide for the rim and consume more fuel. For 205 the ideal rim size 16" width is 7j and above.

fyi, current speedo meter for insight also not accurate. counter check with few GPS devices already. The reading at the speedo meter at least 5% faster than the GPS.
maybe honda want to make us feel the car can travel more and better FC... laugh.gif
