My car just past 3 months aniversary... and...    just got rear-ended at LDP this morning while crusing smoothly at 80km/h. Just out of sudden hear car emergency brake from behind... and bang. Look at a brighter side, I got to test for myself the rear impact protection and headrest restraint system, it really works.

My rear bumper (together with my mugen lip  ) koyak clips broken, bonnet cover metal part kena a bit (luckily the glass part and the lamps not affected), the rear part of the body frame distorted inwards (bonnet cannot close properly and can see bigger gap on both side of the lid after closing).

Can claim the other car insurance, but....

1) No car to use for a period of time and my job requires me to be on the road almost daily.
2) I cannot claim for the Mugen rear bumper lip..... and worst still...        I cannot just purchase the rear bumper lip by itself because it has to come in a full complete set   

What a start for the new year for me...

Insight ice mod is the same as any other car la.... So just take to any reputable ice shop and they can do for you. As long as u don't connect anything or even touch the hybrid battery ur fine. Xenon amps are huge, won't be able to fit under the car seat. With our limited boot space u might wanna rethink especially when the hybrid battery is just below the boot space. For me I don't even wanna take any slight risk. For ice od here is my suggestion: depending on ur budget, if high, get the audison bit one as it comes with speaker level input, or audio control eq, they offer far better than those cikai brand hi lo. Get an efficient amp which is usually small, and ur ready to go. Got chance I post my setup for reference. Happy icing!!!

This is my reply.

My aircond always set at 28degree. The most 26degree in the afternoon.

I always maximize my momentum by extending the charging period before stops. Abrupt stops is waste of energy.

My daily journey is on normal state road (not highway) so i can keep my speed nicely between 70-90km/h. Those were the most economical speed for Insight.

I've tried maintaining 160km/h, fuel economy drops to around 16-17km/l only.

I always make sure my average per tank hits >19km/l before fuel up. I always refuel @ indicator blink. Yeah sometimes i only get ard 18km/l only. Sometimes i purposely drive out to improve the reading, while buying burgers or something. U will notice that if u maintain speed @ 70km/h for some 5km or so, the reading will shoot up to 20+km/l for current journey. I always prevent too short journey and prefer longer route to get better mileage record.

I limit engine warmup every morning by shifting to S or L after start the engine for a few seconds and let the car crawl. Once the C (cold) indicator lights off, i resume driving normally. I notice lengthy warm up in the morning badly affect the FC.

I never/very, very seldom let the engine on while stationary e.g, stop by burger stall, go to atm machine etc.

Added on March 1, 2012, 11:49 amhaha..in fact the back bumper is now grey colour..compared to the 2011 model it is body colour..so some contrast there..boot light is available in fl..at the left side of the boot..

the keys are jack knife style..

I am considering booking for Insight also, but when I read about this auto stop start function, I don't feel very comfortable with this kind of function. If we are driving in KL for example on Friday, normally the car will be stucked in jam for like 1 hour. So the car might be moving very slowly in the jam. So I am wondering, the air con will then auto shut off for 1 hour?? or It will keep auto stop and start for that 1 hour period?? Isn't that very uncomfortable if the weather is hot in the middle of KL?

This looks more like cause by your alignment out and toe is not align. (usually use chamber screw to align it? To prevent this from happen ?)

nobody can advise me that for year 2, how much should I insure for my insight?

windscreen RM675? u pay RM675 or u r insuring RM675 which i believe is not relevent
if u r paying RM675 per renewal..that means u r assuring RM4500 o_O" unless ur insurance company count the windscreen insure differently as those insurance company that i know

Mine just first year (this year) for FL version windscreen sum insured RM6k, premium RM900!
