another update : I was able to restore the backup taken with samsung build by gnex toolkit at the google build.
now I can take Titanium as well as Nandroid backups.....yahoooo !!
*
The GNex Toolkit probably help, but I would say, forget about it. You'll learn nothing if you keep using it. The toolkit is actually a batch file with a bunch of commands done when you hit the option. Bad thing is, sometime, you'll missed out the errors given out and you thought everything was okay and you reboot the GNex and you left with bricked GNex instead. So .. what I'll suggest is .. go to notepad and view that batch file .. learn what method it uses to do the some of the options.. You'll become an expert in no time smile.gif

The CS just browse to their website to "read" the spec... sigh! The second link provided by their CS which is a redirect to the link I posted.

For Celcom package, you can choose between RM88/month, RM108/month, RM250/month. Each with different data limit and calling rates, check it at their site. After choosing the monthly commitment, choose duration: 12 or 18 months.

Like me, I choose RM88/month for 12 months, then I can buy my phone for RM1708, pay upfront of RM300.

Hi bro, mind to share the download speed for celcom mbasic plan? was called celcom CS few times and they giving me the different ans, some said 3.6mbps some said 512kbps? can you do a download speed test to confirm? coz im planning to get a plan from celcom. or anyone using celcom madvance can share their speed as well?

thank in advance!

What is so special about CM? Arent they like custom ROM as well?
*
I guess its because the support the widest range of device, and they are closest to stock Android, but with their own tweaks as well, which are often good changes. Many custom ROMs are based on CM too.

Someone ask for single page rendering column when open web page.
To enable single rendering column, open web page ,under URL type about:debug
Hit go and you see blank page, go setting and you see extra setting after lab,
Navigate until single column  and enable that. Now when you open web page you have one lay out single rendering web page.
Regarding someone mention about numerous soft reboot after sometime,
first you don't use any type of juice defender or task killer,The force GPU enable also contribute to the reboot.
I notice after browse heavy web page and intensive game the phone get hot a little bit, when battery temperature hit 51"C and i get overheat message on test menu under batt information  ,the galaxy nexus start reboot by itself. I leave it under power off condition  for 5 minute and amazingly the galaxy nexus cool down temperature at fast rate.I power on again and see batt temperatureat 30"C. For me it quite amazing. The heat distribution is fast along the body.
Now i currently disable  force GPU accelerated, and thing works well.
In between can someone verify Bump apps can be use in Galaxy nexus?
*
hmm, thanks for the input. biggrin.gif

dun think so. SGSII is more future proof in terms of the hardware except the screen. Exynos and Mali 400 are yet to be fully utilized by current system and application requirements. on the otherhand powervr and tiomap is more on compatibility. which means, its almost reaching its peak d. cannot ask too much from it d.
*
Actually not quite true, but I do agree from a hardware perspective the SGS2's Exynos and Mali400 processors have a lot of potential. But that hardware potential quickly diminishes with the absence of developer support (though not to say there are none).

The Galaxy Nexus may have a 'weaker GPU' but lets not forget that it is a developer platform and it has reached a cult status. A lot of applications and developments for the year 2012 will be based on this model as a benchmark. In terms of application compatibility, I'm more confident that Galaxy Nexus will be at an advantage. Also that PowerVR SGX540 is standard issue on a lot of phones.

It may not yield good numbers in your favorite benchmarking tools but it will play all the latest games with good performance (and your other favorite applications). That's what matters to a user.

Ya, GPU acceleration does introduce artifacts and incorrect renders as already predicted by Google engineers. Some of them are bugs that can be easily resolved.

Anyway from your temperature observations, I have a good feeling that the unbranded 'fortified screen' helped out on the heat dissipation. Thats the largest air convection surface you have on a phone. Rumors has it that Corning's Lotus Glass is great in this respect. Really hope Galaxy Nexus is using this glass. Even iPhone 4S is not using Gorrila Glass (meaning good chance it could be this glass too).

It might have been mentioned before on the thread, but I have serious problem with battery life and overheating on the top left of the back lid. Would like to know if anyone else is experiencing that? If it is a common problem, is there any solution for them?

It has started to become a nuisance to me. Hopefully experts out there could help out. Million thanks!!!

Have you check your battery usage? I've had a bad one before and found out that facebook was hogging the cpu for whatever reason. Uninstalled and reinstalled, disable location and notification and this solved my problem. On the overheating, this only happen when I do browsing using mobile data/3g and not all the time. I believe this is normal since I've had the same thing on my 3GS.

be specific - what temperatures are you seeing. Install a simple app eg batterylife widget and monitor it
Operating temperatures with heavy usage eg browsing, gaming could range from 35 to 45 degree C : is perfectly normal
Yes you will feel the "heat" at the camera area. I find this phone is less hot compared to the SGS II and is quite comparable to the Galaxy Note
