QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 18 2012, 11:21 AM) Just recieved my Melko case from carrymobile - it was mailed out on the 11 Jan Argh, mine still stuck in processing .. sent them email but no reply yet.Excellent quality and fits the GNex perfectly BTW, looking at the photos, the cut outs do not seem to be clean(straight)? .. or probably camera angle made it looks bad? QUOTE(gurpreetsingh @ Jan 18 2012, 10:47 PM) my phone not booting up.....does it take too much time after flashing? I flashed again to google stock after renaming recovery file.. now it shows agin logo and lock.............. Did you read previous replies? You can't use custom kernel on stock 4.0.1/2 .. you need to have custom ROM 4.0.3 and the franco kernel.. so, what you need to do now is to put in AOPK ROM and then the franco kernel afterward.Added on January 18, 2012, 10:48 pmmay be m following wrong steps Added on January 18, 2012, 10:50 pmmy fone not working since last night...tried different stuff....m missing some step may be |

QUOTE(gurpreetsingh @ Jan 18 2012, 10:56 PM) full_maguro_IML74K-ota-eng.bigxie.9-2 can I use this..it is also 4.03 i guess I've just did a yakju 4.0.2 factory restore, didn't use the toolkit since it doesn't work on me for some reason. I extracted the files .. copy fastboot into the same directory.. and open up the .sh file .. and issued the commands manually following the instruction. Works for me.Added on January 18, 2012, 10:56 pmi did factory restore from fast mode |

If you've done NANDROID backup, I'll say .. go back to that backup. Bootup into fastboot, go into recovery .. and do a restore from CWM.

QUOTE(gurpreetsingh @ Jan 18 2012, 11:50 PM) There will be probably few who're going to reply .. anyway, here is the way I did today:1. Download the yakju firmware from google. http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html 2. Extract the tar.gz file using your favourite unarchiver .. 7zip or such will work 3. Copy fastboot-window.exe from your tootlkit into the same directory as the extracted tar.gz file above. 4. Open up flash-all.sh using notepad .. there are list of fastboot commands to follow in that file. Just follow it one by one.. You need to issue the command in fastboot mode. If you get an error, just wait a little while and reissue the command again. |

QUOTE(gurpreetsingh @ Jan 19 2012, 12:17 AM) You need to be in the cmd prompt window. If you're using Win7, type CMD at the start menu and hit enter. Then you need to go to the directory where the extracted files are. |

QUOTE(gurpreetsingh @ Jan 19 2012, 01:09 AM) another update : I was able to restore the backup taken with samsung build by gnex toolkit at the google build. The GNex Toolkit probably help, but I would say, forget about it. You'll learn nothing if you keep using it. The toolkit is actually a batch file with a bunch of commands done when you hit the option. Bad thing is, sometime, you'll missed out the errors given out and you thought everything was okay and you reboot the GNex and you left with bricked GNex instead. So .. what I'll suggest is .. go to notepad and view that batch file .. learn what method it uses to do the some of the options.. You'll become an expert in no time now I can take Titanium as well as Nandroid backups.....yahoooo !! |

QUOTE(monkeyz0131 @ Jan 19 2012, 10:39 AM) It might have been mentioned before on the thread, but I have serious problem with battery life and overheating on the top left of the back lid. Would like to know if anyone else is experiencing that? If it is a common problem, is there any solution for them? Have you check your battery usage? I've had a bad one before and found out that facebook was hogging the cpu for whatever reason. Uninstalled and reinstalled, disable location and notification and this solved my problem. On the overheating, this only happen when I do browsing using mobile data/3g and not all the time. I believe this is normal since I've had the same thing on my 3GS.It has started to become a nuisance to me. Hopefully experts out there could help out. Million thanks!!! |

QUOTE(gurpreetsingh @ Jan 19 2012, 11:15 AM) bro you are right !! I might use it for quick lock/unlock only...for flashing i will definitely use commands. I've had the yakjuxw, then to AOPK, AOPK+franco, back to yakjuxw and now to yakju 4.0.2 (stock, no cwm recovery). I feel the original 4.0.1 yakjuxw uses less battery than AOPK or AOPK+franco and jakju 4.0.2 .. but well, probably my battery is still not enough 'conditioned' .. so, will see what is next What ROm/kernel/Mods/radio are u using? Added on January 19, 2012, 12:35 pmAnybody else ordered Melkco from carrymobile? It has been many days since I ordered mine and it stills stuck in "Processing" mode. I believe when I bought mine, it was still in stock .. and checking their ordering page right now, their stock is at -5? Shouldn't they put out of stock instead of letting the customer waiting? Thinking of canceling the order now. This post has been edited by wiraone: Jan 19 2012, 12:35 PM |

QUOTE(munak991 @ Jan 19 2012, 01:50 PM) what is the kernel and baseband use by AOKP? Baseband is separate from the ROM, but the kernel isn't .. so if you're going to AOKP from stock, the kernel will be the same as the one that comes from AOKP. As someone pointed before, you might want to upgrade your baseband to XXK6 if you're going for 10.4.3 (which AOKP is).or isit still vanilla? i feel like dont want to touch kernel |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 19 2012, 01:15 PM) I ordered mine last Friday night and on Monday, I got their confirmation. I believe this is fair but I was under impression they are an US outfit but found later, it is HK. 4 days to ship out? Hmm.. they should've put the status as out of stock so customers won't be waiting .. |

QUOTE(sordanny @ Jan 19 2012, 02:03 PM) bro yakju 4.0.2 and apok+franco consume battery faster than yakjuxw???? I can't give any conclusion just yet, I'm too new .. flashed to AOPK when my GNex was two days old and the battery wasn't really optimised yet .. and move back to yakjuxw .. and now yakju .. I'll probably can give my opinion after running each ROMs for at least a week each.. sorry..i was thinking to manually upgrade to 4.0.2 to improve the battery life anyone can confirm which ROM is most best for battery life???
