QUOTE(204 @ Feb 3 2012, 02:33 PM)
the profit cannot be calculate directly on the number of user who use android... they have to put R&D into making sure garmin works with android ALL the time... R&D that they could've spend even more on improving their own hardware and industrial product..

This is the same for every single Android developer out there...doesn't mean it cannot be done, especially when there are millions of Android devices that are your potential users. If app developers can afford to continue supporting their apps on a majority of phones, I don't see how a multi-billion dollar company like Garmin cannot do the same.

anyone?
*
dont count the signal bars...
check the dBm instead

settings>about phone>status
read the signal strength...
if u have +- more then 5dBm means there is some reception issue either on your phone or your telco tower the phone is connected

with so many towers around us... althou you sit at one place.. any device you put side by side also can be connected with different towers

thats what they differ from all android developer out there.. they can afford to don't do it.. they don't survive because of android.. if they're in a strong position of a unique market.. it's their advantages.. there is no need to risk losing a niche but solid market for big but fragile market.. instead the position themselves even deeper into what they're really good at.. it's probably the same reason why we no longer have consumer product from IBM.. it's looks big the market.. but it's also fragile.. you can easily overtaken by someone.. instead.. go for industrial.. thats their strength..

is not apple to apple comparison, other android developer don't own a hardware R&D or division. if you assumption are logic or better profitable via selling app only in market, it should already happen long time ago. garmin should know this in very advanced before you. you can't 100% confirm selling app profit will > GPS hardware.

BTW, you should stop this debate before you go too far or out of topic in this thread. as you always mentioned, keep this thread clean and easy to read twice.

let's continue discuss about GNex, Accessories, ROM/Kernel and Apps working in GNex.

our phone confirm can support landscape. I have MHL adapter, once connect, automatic trigger to landscape mode. all widget, clock, drawer & homescreen work perfectly. until now I don't use any casing because of waiting for this. just using film body protection.

alright, I believe the official dock sure possible to make it go to landscape mode if they don't.

the 1 you looking is this:

full size HDMI out at side, behind are just microUSB port. since dock vertically, so using back microUSB port.

while desk stand, using 3 golden pin, no HDMI out and it's have standard 3.5mm audio jack. just plug cheap stereo speaker, is become your big alarm clock rclxm9.gif

lastly, I also want to know, what if I connect MHL adapter to desktop stand?? hmm.gif hmm.gif will it work? still waiting Samsung Support reply my email....

That desk stand is amazing! Though expensive. One question - do you guys charge your phones even when it's >50%? Like when you're at your desk, you charge it kaw kaw.
Anyone with the downloaded Papago M8 mentioned earlier might wanna give this a try first, my connection having some problems
