As in when the phone is locked out, prompt for gmail should be matched against what is already stored in the phone ma, no? Rather than contacting server.

Or to do that would expose the sensitive data? Don't see how wo, you're still locked out unless you know the password. Same as contacting server for verification, just alternative to contact internal of phones instead.

What about ppl without data plan for instance. Or were on flight mode/no data mode prior to phone locking out laugh.gif

Authentication with GMail is done through server. That means if you change your GMail password online, you'll need to re-enter it on the phone again. No passwords are stored on the phone (IINM). Permissions are granted, and that's all.

Android (or smartphones as a whole) are data-based in its very core. Setting up a Google account on the device itself involves a data connection.

There will be an endless debate about security vs legitimate regaining of device. All I can say is, educate friends about playing with password protection.

Added on January 30, 2012, 4:17 pmDAMN. Just found out there's currently no way to play FM radio on the Galaxy Nexus. Only way is to stream via internet. Spirit FM doesn't work. Dang...

not sure why you need factory reset at the first place. anyhow, just copy your TB apk and entire TB folder to your PC. do anything you need, after done; copy back the TB folder and install back TB. as simple like that.
previously using ARHD/AOPK with franco & apex; now using bigxie/apev rom with apev v5.

The phone was locked so we can not access the files inside it.
my question is , since I have flashed stock rom again can I get my backups generated by titanium?

^you should've just booted into recovery, and perform a data wipe. Your internal storage should be intact under /sdcard/TitaniumBackup. If you flash a factory image, the internal storage is wiped.

If the files were intact, then yes, they can be restored.

after read back few post back, only know your story. doh.gif sad story for you. next time keep your phone in safe place la. and lesson learn, always backup files to PC. we dunno what shit will happen in future.
for mine, I install Titanium Media Backup. and I set the condition; as long as wifi and charger connect, automatic sync TB folder to dropbox. then my pc also have dropbox installed that will automatic download. meant i have 1 set backup in cloud and also second set at desktop.

I would imagine there won't be one. The lower production volume doesn't quite justify making one (as compared to the iPhone).

Am glad I bought my unit a week before CNY where there's only 5 units left in the shop. Hehe.

^ensure NFC and Android beam are turned on on both device. The sender needs to touch the screen when beaming as per on-screen instructions.

Added on January 30, 2012, 9:17 pmAnyway, is it me or the screen totally dies when a phone call is received? There is no way I can pick up a call. The screen shows a call, but it does not register any touch input. Only way to reactivate the screen is to hit power, let it sleep, hit power button again to wake it up, then only can pick up the call.

On AOKP Build 21 if that matters.

I did a full wipe for b21. Even applied Superwipe lite. On franco kernel 14.4, radio = XXKK6.

Is it a kernel problem? Everything works fine, except this.
