QUOTE(rifles @ Jan 20 2012, 12:18 AM) whats the meaning of unlock?? Sim unlock - A SIM lock, simlock, network lock or subsidy lock is a capability built into GSM phones by mobile phone manufacturers. Network providers use this capability to restrict the use of these phones to specific countries and network providers. Generally, phones can be locked to accept only SIM cards (Unlocking is when you can use your phone on a different carrier) I dont really understand this line. Unlock Bootloader - bootloader is code that is executed before any Operating System starts to run. A bootloader is usually locked on an Android device because although it’s an open source OS, still the manufacturers want you to stick to their Android OS version specifically designed for the device. In order to apply this concept, manufacturers lock the bootloader. With a locked bootloader on Android devices, it is virtually impossible to flash a Custom ROM and forced attempts void warranty as well as usually end up in bricks. Therefore, the first step is to always unlock the bootloader. |

QUOTE(chewlf @ Jan 21 2012, 02:30 PM) I tested mine with all cards including IC and CC all cannot work. However, to my surprise TnG has sound when I touch the back of my gnex. So for your case, you might want try all sort of cards you have to confirm before send for service. FYI, you cards needs to be able to have an embedded chip that uses it. Not all credit cards/identification cards are equip with it. Eg, it will work with Paypass/Wave credit cards |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Jan 30 2012, 08:59 PM) ^ensure NFC and Android beam are turned on on both device. The sender needs to touch the screen when beaming as per on-screen instructions. Not for me.. AOKP b21 too Added on January 30, 2012, 9:17 pmAnyway, is it me or the screen totally dies when a phone call is received? There is no way I can pick up a call. The screen shows a call, but it does not register any touch input. Only way to reactivate the screen is to hit power, let it sleep, hit power button again to wake it up, then only can pick up the call. On AOKP Build 21 if that matters. what kernel are you on? What rom did you come from? |
