USJ section looks good..
But really need the Lembah Subang and Subang Jaya sections to link up so trains can get to USJ..
SS15 section still in pier construction stage as of 2 days ago.

I'm just waiting for Station 11 to be completed. Will it look like the Ampang station or just a standard one? |

QUOTE(jonc88 @ Oct 25 2013, 01:18 PM) Quite an interesting set of tracks there.. Wonder why they have it so wide for so long.. Perhaps another cripple siding..? About the wide crossing near Kelana Jaya extension station 2. I understand that is for the additional third track for storing trains, similar to thr third track near Kelana Jaya line University station. |

QUOTE(jonc88 @ Oct 31 2013, 08:12 PM) Would be good if they provisioned a turn out for the future LRT3 as well since station 2 is so near the depot that a cripple siding there seems to be a lot of extra storage, heheh.. A few notes ...(1) KLJ LEP Station 2 is north of NKVE (2) KLJ LEP Station 3 is south of NKVE (3) Logical connection to KLJ LEP depends on which area (North or South of NKVE) will be served by LRT3 (4) Branch network usually doesn't make sense for LRT line where capacity are already limited by train length and frequency, because the two branches will always have half the maximum capacity of the trunk line. (5) Limitation of branch network for LRT can be seen on RapidKL AMG Line: Chan Sow Lin to Ampang branch and Chan Sow Lin to Sri Petaling branch. (6) So a branch from KLJ LEP to LRT3 even if possible at this late stage, may not make sense technically. |

And so LRT 3 shall be treat as a separate line with passenger transfer to KJ line.

QUOTE(sabre23t @ Nov 6 2013, 12:18 PM) A few notes ... Connection would still be useful as they can transfer rolling stock from the depot should the systems be the same I suppose.. I do agree with the limitations you have raised up though, especially on capacity issues.. In my opinion, time to abandon LRT in KL.. Make use of more commuter rail systems for longer distances or MRT for shorter distances..(1) KLJ LEP Station 2 is north of NKVE (2) KLJ LEP Station 3 is south of NKVE (3) Logical connection to KLJ LEP depends on which area (North or South of NKVE) will be served by LRT3 (4) Branch network usually doesn't make sense for LRT line where capacity are already limited by train length and frequency, because the two branches will always have half the maximum capacity of the trunk line. QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Nov 6 2013, 12:26 PM) Yes, it seems.QUOTE(jonc88 @ Nov 6 2013, 12:30 PM) Connection would still be useful as they can transfer rolling stock from the depot should the systems be the same I suppose. Even when rolling stocks are different, there are still merits to transferability of other rail borne vehicles between two lines. I understand LEP AMG and LEP KLJ have track connectivity near Putra Heights station for direct movement of some rail borne vehicles between the two lines. Even when there is no direct track connectivity there are other means of moving rail borne vehicles between two standard gauge lines.QUOTE(jonc88 @ Nov 6 2013, 12:30 PM) Comments to SPAD's KV LPTMP URDP (Urban Rail Development Plan) may be the best place to forward that concept ...http://www.spad.gov.my/projects/national-m...-klklang-valley As is, that URDP envisage in 2020 there will be 3 MRT lines and 3 LRT lines in Klang Valley. |

QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Oct 30 2013, 12:45 PM) it is taking forever here. is it because the land in Subang Jaya is unstable? only with TRC we can see steel bars arranged with no sign of mixed concrete covering it for more 3 months along the SS15/SS17 area... |
