just to report that my upload speeds are too awesome

i subscribed to the 8mbps but i get consistently about 20-25mbps download, daily without upping the boost to 50mbps.

time, please keep being generous

and the Head of CS is a lady of her words. she committed to waive the 3 days i was left without service due to a cable snap, and she honored it. hazel, you have my utmost respect tongue.gif

Some TIPS for TIME FTTH/FTTO or Astro IPTV Subscribers :

Fibre Cable

1) You are given 15m of Fibre Cable from the POE (Point of Entry) into your house. All outside your house cable will be covered by TIME.
For TIME FTTH/FTTO, additional fibre cable will be charged at RM15/meter.
For Astro IPTV, additional fibre cable will be charged at RM45/3 meter blocks. (Eg. Total in-house fibre cable 16m, you must pay RM45 to the Installer.

Before any Installation, please ask the Installer how long is the in-house fibre cable ? how much I have to pay ? Tally the price with the length.
So now the question is how do you really trust what the Installer told you ?

Very simple, the length of the cable is stated on the fibre cable itself.

Eg. 2 Core Drop cable (White)

End Point at your Fibre Modem (ONU)

So you can do some simple mathematics, (610 - 607)m = 3m

i tried to torrent last night with the situation
1. router placed with its back against the wall
2. distance laptop (with wireless-n) to router (pure wireless-n mode selected) is about 10-15 metres
3. roughly 3 other devices connected but not heavily downloading

download speed for a file with roughly 1,000 seeders and leachers each is up to 2.2MB/s

not bad tongue.gif

Hi bro...TIMES Square Penang in fact is the 1st pioneer project in Penang where TIME & Astro started their service.
Still remember those days where we worked till midnight for all sorts of work, cablings, gpon & iptv installations, trunking...kinda tough but good memories smile.gif
If not for those hands-on experience, I wont b able to answer your questions here smile.gif

Recently new phase Block 79 is also RFS.

Well...TIME had recently replaced the fibre cable with TIME own Fibre which capable of supporting higher bandwidth & much more stable !

Times Square has some bad luck, some while ago, the cable was hit by some PBA contractors...

Overall, TIME service at TIMES Square is OK, at least 50% of residents there are using it, even business lots downstairs & Ivory office as well.

If TM sub contractors would do a neater and honest job during installations just like Time contractors, Unifi would have been much competent.

People would have to pray not to be overcharged with unnecesary additional charges if they start asking for proper cables and neater work.Else they'll do as they like with the take it or leave it attitude if you want free. Want a better job, prepare to pay hundreds or thousand for concealed work and extra protection on your cables.
