QUOTE(papermun @ Feb 9 2012, 09:13 AM) I just called them .They told me that the high speed internet account cannot be resetted.Even after i explained everything so precisely to them, that my account's privacy is at risk of being jeopardized. They keep telling me that it cannot be done. They did tell me that the account is locked to my port and location etc etc though. Can anyone confirm this for me? I don't want to have to call them again. I can use my office user/pass at my house and vice versa but of course only 1 session per login is allowed.

Hi Guys Just got my unifi installed yest. So far speed good for VIP 5. Only porblem is wifi range is not as good. Can only get 1-2 bars in my bedroom and the tm router is in living room. I am considering between adding a repeater (Aztech WL556E) upstairs to increase the wifi range or will changing the router to tplink (W8960N or WR841N) or any other brand increase the wifi coverage? Both should be around the same price i think.. By the way will adding a repeater affect the network speed or will it be neglible when I use the internet upstairs? Hope any of you with similar experience or have previously solved this issue share your solutions Thanks P.S Can I be added to the ever growing list of unifi subcribers?

Hi I've been using Unifi since September last year. All this while I've no problem using it with multiple devices at home. But for the past few weeks, I've been having difficulties surfing the net using my Dell laptop. I can connect to it without any problem. But the connections were very unstable and really slow most of the time as well. Connecting to it using my iPad and iPhone at the same time, I found that it was at its normal fast speed. I can stream videos on Youtube without any waiting. I have another laptop at home that can also login and surf with high speed as well. At first I thought its that particular Dell laptop's problem. But using that laptop to surf net elsewhere shows that it can login and surf at high speed too, so definitely its not a problem with that laptop. Anyone here had similar problem? Hope someone can help me coz I tried google for answers on the net but couldn't find any solution

QUOTE(uGinn @ Feb 8 2012, 04:04 PM) I just got my unifi installed today..10mbps.. But I don't want to use the router they give which is the DIR-615. I wanna ask is the DIR-655 is usable on unifi? Because I'm using that for my streamyx last time. Thanks. I used the DIR-655 for Streamyx too. Fantastic router. Unfortunately there's no way to use it directly with UniFi. You'll still need the DIR-615. What you do is set the DIR-615 as a bridge and the DIR-655 for PPPoE, similar to a Streamyx modem/router setup. More info here: http://unifi.athena.my/

Torrenting here at Sg Long at 5mbps, no probs. Could be it server-side prob?

QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Feb 11 2012, 04:32 PM) What's with the freakin disconnection?
If I'm truly fed-up, I can buy out the two(2) years contract; pay RM500.
Make me sick.
Download disrupted
WTF!
PS: Pandan Indah.
Try power cycling the BTU and wireless router.

QUOTE(sfwong1 @ Feb 9 2012, 02:37 PM) the D-link modem wifi range is a little bit short rite? anybody else experience it? It isn't great but not that bad. My neighbor's DIR-615 is in his back room on the ground floor and I still get 2 bars on my iPhone when I'm at my gate. Probably a distance of about 70ft. However in my bedroom, closer but 1 floor up, the signal is worse.

@47ronin Your setup looks good. Just make sure to disable the DHCP servers on the WRT54G and 841ND. Do a LAN switch -> LAN port connection if you have not setup the WAN port on those routers in passthrough mode.
@izzat80 It's a separate chip and interface but most routers utilize a software bridge to connect the wifi interface to the LAN switch chip interface.

QUOTE(duabijitelur @ Feb 11 2012, 08:30 PM) guys just wanted to ask that the default router given by tm DIR-615 sucks a lot? recently register unifi but have to wait few more days...really hope that is FEW more days It isn't that bad. I was using it for a month. It can handle non-stop direct downloads and even torrents if you limit your # of connections < 50. But too many connections (including half-open ones) will eventually slow it down to a crawl and crash the router. I'd say it's works just fine for someone who doesn't torrent much. e.g.: my neighbor's DIR-615 is probably close to 130 days uptime now. In any case, there are plenty of alternatives from cheap TPLinks to Asus to Routerboards. I'm currently using a Routerboard RB750GL. This post has been edited by soonwai: Feb 11 2012, 11:25 PM
